12.01.2022 Hi All, I have been asked on behalf of the Club Committee to inform you of the current situation regarding the Coronavirus outbreak and how it will effect the membership of the Club. All meetings have been suspended until further notice. All Car runs have been suspended until further notice. Coffee n Cars in the Vale has also been suspended until further notice.... The committee will operate through email or a phone link situation and new memberships etc will be handled in this way. With the new government ruling to cancel all non necessary meetings with social interaction to be kept to the minimum with a recomended distance of 1.5metres between people it would be very difficult to maintain meetings in a good social atmosphere. We hope that you will all agree with the precautions that we are putting in place for the long term good of the Club. I have included a copy of the recomendations of the Sporting Car Club of SA to their membership as a guide for your information. Trevor Sharp AMHCC Run Coordinator 0415820719 [email protected] SCCSA policy statement re Corona virus Covid-19 Issued Friday 13 March 2020 The Sporting Car Club Management Committee require non-attendance at any club events or club property by members/staff/competitors returning from overseas or from an area of Australia where they may have had contact with infected persons within the previous 14-day period that includes any persons who have returned to Australia recently (i.e. up to 14 days ago 28 Feb). Obviously similar action applies to members who are experiencing flu-like symptoms. Regarding events, we may need to cancel events as this situation progresses, but to do so today may be premature, but we will be constantly monitoring developments and will issue further updates as appropriate. Please be aware of the Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) advice for the public issued by the World Health Organisation: Basic protective measures against the new coronavirus: Stay aware of the latest information on the COVID-19 outbreak, available on the WHO website and through your national and local public health authority. Take care of your health and protect others by doing the following: Wash your hands frequently, Maintain at least 1 metre (3 feet) distance between yourself and anyone who is coughing or sneezing. Avoid touching eyes, nose and mouth Covering your mouth and nose with your bent elbow or tissue when you cough or sneeze. Avoid physical contact such as handshakes.

05.01.2022 FOR IMMEDIATE PRESS RELEASE 15 March 2020 McLaren Vale VINTAGE & CLASSIC 2020 CANCELLED. In its most recent (15.03.20) Coronavirus (COVID-19) health alert, t...he Australian Government has advised that, effective from Monday 16 March, organised, non-essential gatherings should be limited to 500 people. As a consequence, we are left with no alternative other than to cancel the McLaren Vale Vintage & Classic 2020. This step has been taken with heavy heart but full awareness of the need to ensure public safety at an event that was anticipated to draw in excess of 15,000 local, South Australian and interstate visitors to the Grand Parade on McLaren Vale Main Street on Sunday April 5, 2020. Event Chairman Trevor Sharp said,For this year, we have received record entry levels of classic cars and motorcycles that would have paraded down the Main Street of McLaren Vale. Sadly, we have had no other choice but to cancel the event. Wineries have geared up to welcome entrants and visitors as this is one of their major tourism events. They are of course disappointed but understand that this was our only and realistic option. Trevor Sharp commented that: A primary goal of McLaren Vale Vintage & Classic, now in its 15th year, is to raise funds for the McLaren Vale and District Hospital, CFS McLaren Vale and CFS McLaren Flat units and, this year, the Southern Koala Rescue. It will be doubly disappointing if our charitable goals are not met due to events beyond our control. Owners of classic cars and motorcycles who have already paid their entrance fee will have the option to request the Committee to pass on the funds to any of the three fundraising beneficiaries already nominated with the event. Refunds are also an available option. Both options must be channelled via email at [email protected] See more

03.01.2022 Just a gentle reminder that Club membership dues need to be paid promptly if your vehicle is on Club registration. Your log book has to be signed off annually for the registration to be legal. Even if you have paid your registration for 3 years you still must be a paid up member for it to be legal. If you drive this vehicle and are not a paid up member and have a bingle you have no insurance cover. This is your responsibility so check your log book and dues now. If you have any queries contact the club asap.

02.01.2022 Great mix of vehicles at McLaren Vale this morning for Coffee n Cars in the Vale. If you missed it put first Sunday in Sept in your diary for the next one
