25.01.2022 We've had lots of fun while learning in Prep/1. We've been building, creating and working together. We especially enjoyed building a big block town together on the yellow carpet.
25.01.2022 Chappy Tuesday is always a great day. It always starts with an amazing breakfast and continues at 2nd break with the P-3 crafting club.
24.01.2022 A great BIG Happy Birthday to Jack W for the 29 September. We hope you had a great day.
24.01.2022 Keep an eye out for our new signs that have been put up today. Thank you to Richard for putting them up for us.

21.01.2022 Fire fighter James to the rescue!
20.01.2022 Oh no! The naughty elf on the shelf made an appearance today. He even taped up our 2 friendly elves to Ms Hanak’s classroom chair. Students were extremely excited for the good elves visit but are now on the lookout for the naughty elf. The good elves even came with an elf cam that is linked straight to Santa. I certainly hope the naughty elf doesn’t come back and cause more trouble at school.
20.01.2022 It’s starting to feel a lot like Christmas. Today our little Picasso’s planned and painted their Santa sacks. Great job everyone. I hope Santa loves them!
20.01.2022 The Alloway SS Sewing Club has started to take shape. Students are super keen to work with our lovely community member Mrs Williams. Sshhh it’s a secret what we are making. The students also loved the 2 new sewing machines that we bought for the club.
17.01.2022 The 4/5/6 class have been investigating shadows as part of science. Each hour student have to go outside and measure the distance of the shade. They then had to plot where the sun was and how this affected the length of the shade. The students loved it!
17.01.2022 We hope you have had a wonderful break with your family and friends. Just a reminder that school resumes TUESDAY 6 October as the Monday is a public holiday. We can’t wait to see you all again and hear about your holidays.
16.01.2022 The naughty elf has been at it again. Students found a note this morning saying that one of the elves had been held captive. They had to find him quickly. Now I’m not sure how true this is but the students are convinced that you aren’t allowed to touch the elves, so rescuing them was an intricate and interesting procedure. (I think we may have some surgeons in our future!). Happy to announce that all elves were rescued and spent the day safely in the 3-6 classroom. What will they get up to next?
15.01.2022 We had another busy day in the P-2 classroom today finishing off assessments. The students are doing so well! So incredibly proud of all of them.
15.01.2022 The P-2 students have been listening to the first book of The Magic Faraway Tree series. They are enjoying meeting and visualising the characters and the exciting lands that visit the Faraway Tree. Today we visited the ‘Land of snow and ice’. Students were interested in what igloos were and how they were built. After searching igloos on the internet we then went outside and students made their own igloos out of sand and water. Lots of problem solving as the inside of the igloo had to be hollow. Learning through AAP is such fun!
15.01.2022 Congratulations Mason and Willa who did a superb job on their leaders speeches this afternoon.

14.01.2022 Deano Yipadee reading the book that the P-2 class wrote. Thanks Mr Yipadee the students loved hearing you read their book.
14.01.2022 Happy 6th birthday Kalani. We hope you had a lovely day. Thank you for sharing you very yummy cupcakes with us.
14.01.2022 This week in loose parts play, students decided that Tarzan swings would be the focus. It continues to amaze me the problem solving skills our students are developing. This week on their own, students have become safety inspectors making sure that they triple check that things are safe. We just love seeing our students grow in their abilities.
13.01.2022 Tomorrow is rewards day. Students were sent home today with a letter regarding tomorrow’s free dress, hot dogs, popper, ice cream and activities. Congratulations to all students who have shown great behaviour this term. Enjoy your day tomorrow!

10.01.2022 These have to be in this week please. A note from Chappy, Operation Christmas Child is a Christian based initiative that creates a hands-on way to bless children in need across the world by filling shoeboxes with toys, hygiene items, school supplies, and fun gifts. ... The boxes are then distributed to children living in vulnerable situations. During the month of September, the students have decided that they would like to participate in this by packing two shoes boxes per class. A box for a boy and girl aged 10-14 for our senior class and a box for a boy and girl aged 5-9 for our junior class. 10.01.2022 Getting some good publicity.
09.01.2022 The P-2 are enjoying the Magic Faraway series by Enid Blyton. Today we used the outdoor classroom and loose parts area to create our own lands. All students then visited each other’s lands. I think I would like to visit the ‘Land of the Driving Patty Cakes’ or ‘the Land of Christmas’ but I think I’ll leave the ‘Land of Traps’, ‘the Land of Poison’ and the Land of ‘the CRAB’ alone. Great imagination and team work kids!

09.01.2022 Yesterday, some of our very lucky students got to make pumpkin soup with Mrs Findlay. It was very yummy and even students who didn’t like pumpkin thought it was ok.
08.01.2022 The P&C meeting that was scheduled for Monday 14 September has been cancelled. We will be back again next term.
