24.01.2022 Battery Installation and Removal You should follow some simple instructions when installing and removing batteries: A. Remove the keys from a car and make sure all electrical equipment is turned off. B. Remove the negative terminal first then remove the positive terminal, making sure you do not make contact with any part of the car as it will cause sparking.... C. Remove the battery hold down clamp, remove the battery from the vehicle and clean the area where the new battery is to be installed make sure the battery is flat and secure in the cradle, it is important to secure the battery properly as if left loose it may reduce the life of your battery. Secure new battery and put the positive terminal back onto the battery then secure the negative terminal it is best to do it this way as it will help eliminate any sparking with tools or cable. D. If you have access to a multimeter , start the motor and check the charge rate. NOTE: When working around batteries make sure you are careful in not creating any sparks or flames and keep cigarettes away when working around batteries.
