24.01.2022 A piece from our very own Helene ONeill: "There have been many observations and narratives made around the world about COVID-19 and how the world is currently struggling to cope. Expert and not-so-expert opinions are expressed, research findings disclosed, hopes for a vaccine are emerging and the anticipation of lifting restrictions are all part of the daily conversations we are engaging in."

We will keep you up to date with the coming relaxations of restrictions and what they mean for us.

20.01.2022 Alice Meers, Lillianne Samson and Heather Scott travelled to Kilaben Bay yesterday to participate in the Way of the Cross. This year, the annual event was a Vir...tual Way of the Cross, filmed for our diocese. Bishop Bill even got in on the action (he's in the red cap). We can't wait to see the final video! SPX was given Station 9 - Jesus falls the third time. "And they brought him to the place called Golgotha" (Mk 15:22). The journey of Jesus to Golgotha, the 'place of the Skull' is a slow, painful haul. His journey towards public execution is designed to deter others from taking a similar path. He is verbally abused by onlookers as he struggles to maintain his last reserves of strength. Despite his fall for the third time, Jesus finds an inner strength to continue. It is his intimate relationship with God that enables him to rise once more.

19.01.2022 ALL SERVICES CANCELLED The public celebration of Mass has been cancelled until further notice. Celebrations of confirmation and First communion are cancelled for 2020. For full details of cancellations and advice from the Office of Bishop William Wright, and for a full copy of the Pastoral Letter to the Diocese of Maitland-Newcastle - Confronting COVID-19 Pandemic Event, please click on the link below. http://www.allsaintsblackbuttsouth.org.au//Pastoral_Letter... We are saddened by this closure, but it was inevitable. We will endeavour to keep in touch through this page and the parish website. See more

18.01.2022 R U OK? In a year when many of us have faced challenges, were more likely than ever to hear "No, Im not ok." When we hear this response, its not always easy... to keep the conversation going, but it could change a life today, tomorrow and any day its needed. Visit www.ruok.org.au/how-to-ask to learn what to say after R U OK? when supporting work colleagues, family, friends, students or team members in sports. Dont let them face it solo. #RUOK #RUOKDay #Theresmoretosay

09.01.2022 May this verse from Jan Richardson assist us through our Advent journey. "The season of Advent means there is something on the horizon the likes of which we hav...e never seen before. It is not possible to keep it from coming, because it will. That's just how Advent works. What is possible is not to see it, to miss it, to turn just as it brushes past you. And you begin to grasp what it was you missed, like Moses in the cleft of the rock, watching God's hindquarters fade in the distance. So stay. Sit. Linger. Tarry. Ponder. Wait. Behold. Wonder. There will be time enough for running. For rushing. For worrying. For pushing. For now, stay. Wait. Something is on the horizon." ~ from Night Visions by Jan Richardson Let us pray that we will be able to "stay", "ponder ", "wonder" and "behold'.
