Galley kitchen A very efficient use of space with counters running along two parallel walls there should be a minimum 1200mm between facing units to... allow easy access to under counter cabinets. Works best where one end is closed to traffic. Needs good lighting. 2. U-shaped kitchen Provides easy access to all areas of the kitchen benchtop workspace can be well organised. If the area is wide enough an Island can be placed in the centre. 3. L-Shaped kitchen A good solution for a narrow area if the room is larger, a table can be placed within the space providing an additional work surface 4. Single line kitchen Works well in any room with a run of at least 3 metres it should be carefully planned to provide as much worktop space as possible. Best if Storage is kept overhead and under bench appliances
