24.01.2022 The joy of moving Apple iTunes backup folders to a removable drive in readiness to wipe a machine. 1 day duration for 78.0Gb (approx 94 000 files)! It's surprising how many little files iTunes uses for Apple device backups on your PC's local C drive. Watch for these backups on small internal hard drives....they will quickly chew up disk space.

18.01.2022 Don't forget about that USB port on the back of your router guys! Not only is it good to way to share files across your home network to different PC's and smart TV's etc BUT also can be a central point in your home to hook up a USB drive for backing up to (I would suggest a SSD external drive for better reliability). 17.01.2022 Buying a new external hard drive? Check out the new SSD types which are coming down in price. A basic Seagate 500Gb will set you back around $115. These drives offer fast read / write speeds but most importantly are more reliable than convential drives as no moving parts .
