24.01.2022 After the rain weve been able to get out again. the improvement these two are making with their horses. Agility is so much fun and encompasses more than people probably realise. Were teaching the horses to stay and then come, play soccer and they are becoming a lot more confident with scary things!! Well done everyone!

24.01.2022 Updated restrictions - announced 30 July From 11:59pm on Sunday 2 August, face coverings will need to be worn by all Victorians when they leave home, unless they have a lawful exception. Children under 12 years do not need to wear a face covering. Children aged two years or younger must not wear face coverings as they are a choking and suffocation risk.... You dont need to wear a face covering while undertaking strenuous exercise or playing sport. 21.01.2022 We are doing okay and we hope all our students, families and friends are as well. Its not easy in Victoria at the moment but we will get out the otherside. At ATB we are taking this time of reduced lessons as an opportunity to catch up and improve all our processes and documentation. You should see our staff office!! We have a procedure for everything, which will ensure all our lessons continue to run smoothly. It will also ensure that all our staff are adequately trained a...nd prepared for lessons when we return to stage 2. In preparation for returning to stage 2 restrictions we thought we would advertise our first round of September school holiday clinics!! Obviously these clinics will only go ahead if we are back in stage 2, hopefully they might give our students something to look forward to. We will be running private lessons and small group clinics (dependent on government restrictions) each day of the September school holidays. Please contact Andi on 0408735496 to book. 19.01.2022 Everything is wet!! Dams and tanks are full, paddocks are soaked. Unfortunately this weather is not conducive to the lessons we can still run, however it is what we want at this time of year to set us up for summer. Looking good for water for stock troughs and hay for horses!

16.01.2022 We are working through the announcement made yesterday by the Premier and will have an update tomorrow. One positive in the current situation is that our staff have time to keep the ATB lesson horses in work and ready to come straight back into lessons. This video quality isnt great as it was taken in the fading light this afternoon. This is Ta with the beautiful ATB Flicka.

16.01.2022 What stage 3 restrictions will mean for ATB: We are still waiting for clarification which will hopefully be announced today or tomorrow and as soon as I have further information I will provide an update. At this stage our group lessons will cease at 11.59pm on Wednesday 05/08/20.... We are hoping to continue with private lessons for our regular students and we will be able to continue with lessons for our NDIS funded students. Students will require their own helmets. The government directive states no sharing of equipment that touches your face or head. We will continue to adhere to the strict cleaning guidelines that we have undertaken and maintained since we reopened in May. I will update our COVID-19 safe plan which is on our website, as required. Once again a huge thank you for your ongoing support. I will hopefully be able to provide another update soon.

09.01.2022 This is our new "Simon Says" game where you will hear me give instructions about direction and speed. This exercise can be a great precursor to liberty work. It helps develop a connection between the horse and handler. The horse learns to focus on the body language of the handler.

08.01.2022 Our noodle squeeze in action in our Monday night Agility Clinic!

08.01.2022 A rest day for the horses today, tomorrow and Sunday, they certainly have deserved it. We have run 15 group clinics already these holidays in addition to private lessons and we look forward to commencing again on Monday. There are still clinic vacancies and private lesson availability for the rest of the school holidays. I will update our website tomorrow. ... From Monday we will be open 7 days a week again and look forward to seeing everyone.

07.01.2022 Working with gates while under saddle. This element is going to be one of the more challenging in our ridden agility clinics.

07.01.2022 This is a great explanation of why working on the ground with your horse is so important.

07.01.2022 What a beautiful partnership these two have! This is one of our students with her 26yo STB. Hes doing really well for his age and has embarked on his liberty and agility career. We are working on the concept of keeping our horses "locked on" to us during our liberty work. We walk at different speeds; slow, medium and fast, turn left and right and practice stops. Really proud of these two. They are progressing well and their relationship has developed during this work.

07.01.2022 We are really happy to have launched our Agility and Liberty programs. We are teaching skills that are developing stronger relationships between our students and horses. This is my passion, what I love to do and I find it wonderful that many of our students are embracing something that is new to them and finding that they love helping their horses to develop confidence. When a horse will partner with you without a lead rope thats pretty exciting and rewarding. Ive been inspired by Working Equitation and the Calgary Stampede Cowboy Up Challenge and am in the process of developing an ATB tailored program of ridden agility!! Fingers crossed our first clinic can run during the school holidays.

06.01.2022 It's that time of year and we have been extremely fortunate to grow plenty of our own hay!

05.01.2022 With regional Victoria moving to Step 3 tomorrow it looks like we will be able to get back to our covid normal lesson structure! I am waiting for the updated restricted activity guidelines for the final details. We are looking forward to running our school holiday clinics commencing Monday 21st September. In addition to our school holiday clinics we will be running private lessons Monday to Sunday. Private lessons can be general riding, dressage, show jumping, showing, liberty, ground agility or ridden agility. Students are welcome to bring their own horse or use one of ours. Ive attached a clip of staff member Ta learning to connect with Amber

03.01.2022 ATB Earl As we were working with him today we realised he is now 15yo. I was told many years ago that if horses arent started under saddle before the age of 5 years its too late. I guess well see!! We backed Earl a couple of years ago, but I wouldnt say he was saddle started. ... He did incredibly well today and I was really happy with his progress.

03.01.2022 This is my littlest person keeping Toto in work during stage 2 restrictions. Her riding has improved significantly with a couple of focussed lessons and then riding every day!

02.01.2022 Staff member Trixie working with Rivergums Rango We want him back in lessons when we get back to stage 2 restrictions.

02.01.2022 This is my little person learning about steering and balance!

01.01.2022 Time to give my daughter a lesson on her beautiful pony today

01.01.2022 Under stage 3 restrictions, following the restricted activity guidelines set out by DHHS, ATB is unable to provide any equipment for communal or shared use. Which means we have had to suspend most of our lessons until we return to stage 2. We miss everyone greatly and hope you are all safe and well. We are doing what we can to keep our wonderful horses in work and ready for lessons as soon as we return to stage 2.... ATB Earl had his second ride and is looking really relaxed and comfortable. Weve continued to work on asking for forward to help him gain confidence. I think he looks pretty good in western!!
