24.01.2022 Beloved Carcassonne One time in that region, we travelled for 10 days/nights in a car. Super! We covered so much ground. However, every *single place we only spent just one night , always moving ... Except Carcassonne. Woot! 2 nights! One whole day in-between. Cruising canals + fabulous chateau.... Wo! What a gorgeous place to unwind. Have you been there? #riverboat #rivercruise #carcassonne #chateau See more

23.01.2022 This is one of my all-time favourite photos. I loved it in the beginning, and I first learned how to use Photoshop with it (very basic editing). Now I just use the filters on my iPhone. Yay! It’s one of 5 digital downloads available when you sign up for my newsletter. https://mailchi.mp/0df036303070/allthingsfrench. XX... #uzes #uzes #favourite #favorite

22.01.2022 #missingfrance I learned this morning that Qantas may be unlikely to fly to Europe before the end of 2021. I am heartbroken. To live another year and not see my beloved France literally brings me to tears. I haven’t been in Paris for at least three years, and was certainly intending to go this year, if not next year.... Did you have plans to go pre-Covid?

21.01.2022 Love these colours! X #shutterlove #shutters

21.01.2022 In 2009, I took my 15 year old boy @_amuel on a Grand European tour. I spent AUD $28,000 on that trip (about 30% of my total cash assets at the time) in 7 weeks! Worth every cent I remember this day particularly. We had landed late morning (on a Mediterranean cruise - woot!) in beautiful Mykonos.... OMG!! Everyone else (all 2000+ of them ex-ship) just hung out by all the restaurants and markets, but my son and I immediately started to walk up through the streets and towards a clear vantage point of the harbour. Yay! Just one or two blocks from the harbour - 10 years ago - we were delightedly walking along pristine stone and white pathways, with perfect whitewashed walls everywhere. Momentarily, I was looking through open doorways into intimate family moments. Tiny places, exquisite and clean. By the time we walked down the hill back to the harbour, lots of little restaurants and bars had opened up. It was so fun! I loved it there. This was me a decade ago playing with an App on my phone. ‘Color Splash’ - still available. Black & white with a feature colour. I still love the colour of this top, but it doesn’t fit me any more. Bon week-end a vous mes amis See more

18.01.2022 An interesting read, no doubt! Have you been to any of these places? XX

17.01.2022 Tonight I watched an episode of ‘The World’s Greatest Palaces’ (on SBS Australia), featuring the Château de Fontainebleau. Such is my naughty memory that I *barely remember visiting there in 2016, and I admit to not recognising many of the scenes. My travelling companion remembered much more than me. ... I couldn’t even actually recall whether I had taken many photos of le Château, or even what device I may have taken them on! Turns out I’ve got scores of photos! I’ve just downloaded these few tonight to post, but there’s loads more! Yay.

16.01.2022 Some of the most beautiful features of Arles are the Roman architectural buildings that still exist in the town today. It’s truly amazing to be able to walk amongst genuine, beautiful, Roman history, reaching back 2000 years into another age and culture. Read more:

05.01.2022 I admit to loving this image. I’ve seen various shots of this place, so I had to hunt it down and take my own. Any guesses in where this is?

03.01.2022 Rest In Peace my angel. Thank you for all of your messages over the last 10 days. I usually answer everyone, *you know that. Sorry if I didn’t get back to you. XX I am bereft. I promise you, I read them ... and appreciate you. XX

02.01.2022 I distinctly remember the very first time I went to Saint-Rémy-de-Provence (even with my shocking memory). Wow! I couldn’t stop taking photos! I was completely entranced. The beautiful stone, the range of colours in the shutters, the cleanliness, and especially the quiet places ... where I could be alone to contemplate all this beauty.... Have you been St Rémy?
