24.01.2022 Another day another dive....Kiama NSW. I show how to "choke" a speargun at the 20 second mark. It's useful to reduce the power if you are shooting into caves or with rocks behind small fish so you don't break gear - just wrap your hand around everything on barrel and squeeze tight. NB: ONLY do this with notched shafts and dyneema wishbones. If your shaft has tabs it's gonna hurt

17.01.2022 A quick dive today off tweed heads and can say the gamefish have arrived. Took this as the smallest mackeral i saw, but would have seen another 20 come through in a few schools. Also a big 20kg kingfish. Viz was 5m improving to 10m. Big currents. Also saw a few mangrove jack and then a few snapper to 2.5kgs

14.01.2022 890 gram blackspots goattie gutted and filled...so reckon it would have been like 1.2kgs all up. Saw big shoals of big ones this size which was quite exciting. Also good viz today, say 12m, and loads of bait. Fisherman I spoke to reckons it's nearly snapper time here

12.01.2022 Ok just arrived at tweed heads and can say I am very impressed. Just got out for a quick dive before wind picked up and was greeted with 30m viz, warm blue water and fishyAF. What an awesome change after literally months of cold green water on NSW central coast. Just took one models perch for dinner, such a pretty fish. I'm hoping t oo be based around here and gold coast for a good few months, can't wait for good weather
12.01.2022 Met Josh and Riley at the ramp having boat troubles so they came out with me...and killed it! 10kg mullaway and 11kg kingy off an incredible spot. And nothing for me. Well done boys

09.01.2022 Ok I am rather impressed with this catch with Alberico Mayol. South coast NSW...in 2-3m visibility! Wasn't even going to get in it was so filthy and brown, but found a calm shallow spot and thought ok let's have a look. Should also say this is one of the few times I've ever been happy to get a full bag limit for a species (eastern scorpion cod). Not big but totally delicious and surprisingly prolific on these reefs

08.01.2022 First Tweed Heads mulloway today. 11.6kg gutted and gilled so would have been 14-15 all up. Happy days
08.01.2022 Filthy water dive in 2m viz.. someone's boat sank, basically a poor day all round. Was very surprised we managed to get a decent catch anyway. Just shows if you don't go and try you never know
07.01.2022 Bit of a different catch this time but figured I would share since lots of ya'll also hunt. I ended up carrying out 50kgs of prime meat which has made delicious stew and now I have a rack of biltong drying in the van. I am surprised at how many people who eat meat somehow think it is wrong to hunt your own...anyway guys like Steve Rinella have discussed that eloquently already. @ Kiama, New South Wales
07.01.2022 A decent pair of moses perch from todays dive. Great eating and actually quite challenging to catch. Saw a few small mangrove jack too, plus a cool queensland grouper
05.01.2022 A nice NSW pair from a few days back. Conditions have definately improved a lot - had 20m viz at times. Think this is going to be my last dive for a while...after a full year of travelling and literally doing nothing other than diving or hunting I am feeling all dived out, so time to focus on other stuff for a bit

02.01.2022 Port Stephens NSW...fun couple of days diving with the crayfish master Alberico Mayol. Viz varied from 7-15m, temp about 18 degrees. It's weird seeing sooo much bait and no elagics around to eat them. Also boating etiquette on this side sucks... nearly got into a fight with dude who pulled up right next to us while diving
