19.01.2022 I get that life can be busy sometimes, but it is so important to make the time to read to your children. Let your child choose the book, look at the pictures and point out things you can see on each page. You do not need to read books word for word, just talk about the pictures and most of all.. make it fun! Use different voices, sit close together, and enjoy that special time between you and your little person

16.01.2022 Here is a social story to help our little people understand and cope with all of cornovirus news/talk. Please know that at All Things Speech Pathology, I am putting in extra measures to disinfect all tables, chairs, toys, door handles etc etc to ensure there are no germs spread of any kind. I do ask that if you, or your child, or anyone in your home are sick that you please cancel your child's appointment. 15.01.2022 IMITATION.... Imitation is a crucial prelinguistic skill! It is much easier for children to imitate actions with objects before they can imitate words (because children can SEE what you are doing). Check out this great visual for steps to teaching imitation from the SLT scrapbook

13.01.2022 The power of repetition! Gracie and I sing ALL the time. We sing all different kinds of songs and have done so from the day she was born! We also sing in lots of different places; in the bath, in the car, in bed, on walks. Gracie is 2 years and 4 months and can pretty much sing every nursery rhyme out there. I often encourage parents to sing with their child(ren) because it has so many benefits!!! What's your favourite song to sing with your little one(s)?!

11.01.2022 Commenting is a great strategy to use with little ones! This is a tip I often give to parents, try and be the narrator of your life and theirs. Talk about what is happening while it's happening!
