24.01.2022 Let’s get physical and work off those holiday treats

24.01.2022 The amazing Surfing the Spectrum is coming back to Port! registrations open Thursday 24th September. We can’t wait!!

24.01.2022 Today our team got together to discuss how we deliver services, what we can do better and how we can support the community, NDIS changes and all things therapy. Our planning days happen once a term and are one of the only times our whole team get together. So we take the opportunity to also have a bit of fun. ATT turned 6 this week so we celebrated with a bit of cake decorating (could also have classified as messy play). It was tons of fun and lots of laughs. Everyone is sure to be in a sugar coma this afternoon. A huge thanks to Odette's Cakes & Cookies for teaching us some piping tips and the tricks to making some colourful creations.

24.01.2022 18 months - 2 years is an age where a child’s communication expands and changes significantly. It’s also an age parents notice communication delays or behaviour due to communication frustration. Here is a list of milestones for this toddler age group. If you are concerned about your child’s communication we would recommend touching base with a speech Pathologist, as early intervention is key! Is there an age group or developmental skill you would like more information on? Please comment below and we can prepare future posts.

24.01.2022 Want to hear a joke about pizza? I can’t tell you it’s too cheesy #7daystogo

22.01.2022 Our street library is finally up and open to the public. Located at the front door of our clinic @ 14 Siren Rd. We encourage everyone to use the library and enjoy books. Reading is a wonderful way to promote literacy and a great opportunity to bond with your children. * to ensure we remain covid safe there is a box located below with hand sanitiser and we ask that people put new and returned books in the box so that our staff can clean them prior to putting them in the library.

22.01.2022 This week is OT week. A time to celebrate everything that OT does and the 6 wonderful OTs we have as a part of our team. This photo has been shared quiet a bit over the past week or two and I love the simplicity and power of the message. Happy OT week to all OTs out there. #thisisot #otweek #occupationaltherapy #bestprofessionever

17.01.2022 OT week celebrations continue with a poo cake for international OT day. Yes you heard it right a POO cake. As OTs we are constantly asking about poo and it’s texture so of course we all enjoyed a chocolate poo stool chart . #checkyourpoo #thisisot #otweek #rabbitdroppingsisntnormal

16.01.2022 Our new website is live! Head over and check it out. We think it looks fab. #newlook #alltogethertherapy #prettypurple #reachinggoalstogether

15.01.2022 Doesn’t Jess look awesome in her super suit. Once a fortnight out team get together for internal development evenings. Therapists give up their own time to learn and teach other therapists. At night we had a better look at our #therasuit and yes even the speechies had a go. For one we find it is important to try things ourselves so that we can better understand how in assists and feels for our clients. It is also an opportunity to practice and problem solve together as a team.

13.01.2022 Jumping competitions. Who can jump the highest. What else do kids do on the weekend when they help mum and dad do odd jobs at the clinic.

12.01.2022 Why, this car could be systematic, hydrometric, ultramatic... Why, it could be Elf Lightnin'!

12.01.2022 The elf is just hoping for some sunshine after all the rain we have had

09.01.2022 A big shout out to the team at Surfing the Spectrum for another amazing event on the weekend. Mother Nature put on a great day and we have heard some wonderful achievements by some surfing super hero’s. We are so lucky to have these events available to us locally. A big shout out to Maddie, Meagan and Jayden for volunteering their time to support this event. We are blessed to have such awesome team members. Sorry I don’t have any photos from the day, but feel free to share if you have some.

08.01.2022 This year has been an interesting one for University students completing allied health degrees. But we have been lucky enough to be able to have a number of speech, OT and Physio students join in 2020. This is Ellie she is our last student for the year and has been a joy to have around the clinic. As a speech student we love seeing her take a sensory approach to working on speech sounds. Thankyou to everyone that has made our students feel so welcome and Thankyou to our therapists for nurturing these budding minds. We wish Ellie and all our other students the best as they finish their studies and embark on their next adventure.

07.01.2022 I love love love this picture. It so simply explains why some children are fussy feeders and that there is so much more to food than my child won’t eat healthy food or doesn’t like the look of that food. We often here comes on it’s only tiny just have a taste’. Texture and sensory feedback has a huge impact on feeding as our mouth has LOTS of sensory receptors. Our therapists have completed a number of specific feeding and sensory intervention trainings including the SOS approach to feeding to ensure we have the knowledge and skills to assess, support and empower children to reach their goals.

07.01.2022 Since opening ATT I have been lucky enough to be surrounded by a wonderful network of practice owners to bounce ideas off and figure out how we can provide the best service to our community. This week we are so excited to have Coastwide Therapy Services visiting our clinic and playing with all of our awesome equipment.

07.01.2022 What a fantastic idea. We love this song in our house and will look forward to jumping online to learn some new signs.

02.01.2022 Happy Birthday to our awesome OT Meagan! We hope you have the best day
