24.01.2022 "How much is your hourly rate?" This is a question we get asked a lot as do many business, sometimes followed by "my friend can do that cheaper" There are many ...things that go into determining hourly rate in any business large of small,it isn't just a number that the business plucks out of the air. When I hear somebody say " I have a friend that can do that cheaper " I ask them to consider a few following questions - Does your friend have relevant government licences to perform the task required - Does the friend have council approval to do the job in the location they are doing it? - Does the friend rent or are they in the process of repaying this premises? - What overheads does your friends have to perform these tasks ? some may include workers compensation, power, water, rates, employment of staff, relevant insurances, ongoing job and industry training, advertising, sponsoring local clubs, licencing and council fees, environmental fees and concerns - Does your friend have another source of income? - Does your friend employ other people including locals that put back into the local community - Does your friend "warrant" and stand by their work? - Will you friend be there in 12 months or 3 years time to continue to provide you with their great service? -What quality of parts is your friend fitting ? - What specialist tools does your friend continue to purchase to keep up with the industry? Mechanical or electronical tools? - Does you friend have a $99 dollar code reader from "eBay" or a recognised and "Licensed" Vehicle Diagnostic or Scan tool? -Is you friend a part of an industry group or council ie " Motor Trades Association" These are just some of the questions to ask yourself and there are plenty more that spring to mind and these are some of the contributing factors that come to forming an hourly rate. Another contributing factor for working out an hourly rate may be the level of staff the business has and tradesperson numbers and what they are getting paid as they can only get paid (as per any business model) a specified percentage of the hourly rate for that business model to survive and continue to employ people and provide you the customer the ongoing great service and support you deserve. Apprentices are another factor to consider ( as I have written before) their ongoing training (on and off the job) mentoring and time to learn before being able to complete a given task at a tradesperson level. I truly believe that "Host Auto Repairs" hourly rate is very reasonable and very fair for all parties involved and has been formed with much consideration. Some factors left out can have an effect on this at any time as we live in a changing world. But as time shows for a long period we have held our rate very constant and have tried to absorb changes where possible. Thanks for taking the time to read our post today and look forward to seeing you in the future AJ

19.01.2022 15 days until the launch of the CONTAINERS for CHANGE refund scheme CASH FOR CONTAINERS is located at 31 Crompton Road, ROCKINGHAM. We are a local authorised ...refund point for the Containers for Change refund scheme Information regarding Eligible beverage containers Most aluminium, glass, plastic, steel and liquid paperboard beverage containers between 150ml and 3L are eligible for a refund when returned to a refund point. To be eligible the beverage container must: - Have contained a beverage product that is not excluded from the scheme. For example, cordials and plain milk are not included in the scheme so containers that have held these products are not eligible for a refund - Display the refund mark. This is so that the refund point operator can see if the container is part of the scheme. Most containers will already have a refund mark for SA and NT and these containers are eligible under Containers for Change. Beverage manufacturers have 2 years from scheme commencement to display new refund mark. - Be an approved container. Some containers are made from materials that cannot be recycled. These containers may not be approved (by the Western Australia Government) as an eligible container as the scheme requires that when a refund is paid on a container, that container must be recycled. #containersforchange #containerdepositscheme #4ChangeWA #changemakers #cashforcontainers #containersforchangeWA Containers for Change WA

11.01.2022 We hear you WA. I won’t stop fighting for WA’s hard border. Restricting travel into Western Australia has been one of our most effective weapons against this p...andemic that has upended the world. When we made the decision to shut our border we did it to protect the health and well-being of our citizens. It has dramatically reduced the chances of the virus coming into WA from the rest of the nation. And it has worked. It has meant that Western Australians’ efforts and sacrifices to suppress the virus, like following the restrictions, closing businesses, washing hands, getting tested, staying home when sick weren’t in vain and undone by travellers. As a result of our success and our hard border, it meant that WA could lift restrictions inside our borders safer and sooner that everywhere else in the nation, so that the community could quickly regain the freedoms they gave up to fight the virus. The hard border gives Western Australians confidence to take advantage of those freedoms going to the pub, holidaying around the State, getting back to their favourite activities, spending time with their loved ones. The hard border has saved jobs and given businesses the confidence to reopen, rehire and invest, because they know the border makes it less likely we’ll have to reimpose restrictions. As life gets back to normal in WA, confidence has returned and Western Australians are getting out there and supporting their local businesses and local jobs. Plain and simple: the border has saved lives, and as a result it has helped our local economy. I know it’s not without cost. It’s affected certain businesses, it’s separated families. For that I’m sorry. But I’d make the same decision all over again. I will not be intimidated by Clive Palmer and the Liberal Party over this. We will do whatever we can to protect WA. That’s why we introduced the hard border. Extraordinary times, called for extraordinary measures. As Premier, I will continue to work cooperatively with the Federal Government and the Prime Minister, in the national interest and for WA. I’ve respected the work and effort the Prime Minister has put in over a very difficult period. However on this issue, our position is clear. The Liberal Party’s actions and support for Clive Palmer will have real consequences for the jobs, health and lives of Western Australians if they are successful in the High Court. The Western Australian community has been loud and clear. The hard border must stand, and only come down when it’s safe to do so. Thank you, WA.
