They’ve removed the limit on bank reconciliations (previously 20 per month) Yep, we can now stay more closely connected to money coming in and going out. I think we can allllll agree that there is A LOT to the recently released JobKeeper information So, at Alluvia we’ll be spending the next few days getting our heads around it and in true A-Team style, we’ll come back to you with a specific plan of what's next for your business! ... Until then, here’s what we definitely understand so far... Treasurer Josh Frydenberg has now registered the new rules governing the extension of the JobKeeper payments, with ATO guidance set to follow. The Coronavirus Economic Response Package (Payments and Benefits) Amendment Rules (No. 2020 legislative instrument was registered on Tuesday, setting out the decline in turnover test for the extension of JobKeeper to 28 March 2021 and the new two-tiered payment rates. For the first extension period running from 28 September 2020 to 3 January 2021, employees who worked for 80 hours or more in the 28 day period before either 1 March 2020 or 1 July 2020 will receive $1,200 per fortnight, while all other employees will receive $750. For the second period running from 4 January 2021 to 28 March 2021, the rate will drop to $1,000 per fortnight and $650 per fortnight, respectively. To qualify for the first extension period, businesses will need to satisfy the new actual decline in turnover test for the quarter ending 30 September. The Victorian government has announced the largest business stimulus package in the history of the state with an additional $3 billion in new cash grants and tax relief for businesses, including over $1.1 billion for SMEs. The government noted SMEs as being most affected by coronavirus restrictions, with $1.1 billion in support including $822 million as part of the third round of its Business Support... Fund. SO WHAT ELSE DOES IT COVER? Here’s a few of the many things included in this recent support package... Around 75,000 eligible businesses with payrolls up to $10 million will receive grants of $10,000, $15,000 or $20,000 depending on their size. Victoria’s hospitality businesses will be prioritised with the establishment of a $251 million dedicated Licensed Venue Fund, with grants of between $10,000 and $30,000 for licensed venues of all shapes and sizes. 01.01.2022 We are putting our clients into three SPECIAL groups. And here’s why! O U R J O B K E E P E R 2 . 0 S T R A T E G Y Group 1... Currently receiving JobKeeper but did not see a decline of 30% in the June quarter, therefore JobKeeper will end on the 28th of September 2020. Group 2 currently receiving JobKeeper and did see a decline of 30% in the June quarter. We will retest turnover decline at the end of September to determine if they will keep receiving JobKeeper post 28th of September 2020. Group 3 Not yet eligible for JobKeeper. These businesses can still enter JobKeeper if they meet a decline in a single month between now and September. We will continue to test for a decline in turnover monthly. Our main focus now is helping those businesses who have not seen the decline in June 2020. The reality is a lot of businesses may have seen a 25% or even 28% drop, so these businesses are hurting and we need to support them and come up with ways to cement their cash flow position post-September 2020.
