24.01.2022 Busy staging again in the Dandenong Ranges. Bedrooms still to do in this lovely big family home.
23.01.2022 Wow, I feel very proud, thank you Kate!
21.01.2022 Porters Gunmetal Grey walls, bed from Freedom, rug from Miss Amara, picture from Adair’s. Other items secondhand finds. This room gets a lot of sun, the dark walls make it much more restful.
21.01.2022 After a couple of years off, I’m so happy to be back in my office and available for styling and interior decorating advice! I specialise in upcycling, vintage and budget friendly decorating. Thank you for your time, I hope your day is as colourful as my office
19.01.2022 Today’s styling tip: Don’t be afraid to use colour or puppies to enhance a room! They add vibrancy to even the dullest space
17.01.2022 A before and after, appearing as an after then before . The room was yellow and was repainted Dulux "Sandy Day" full strength. It has lilac overtones so I would describe it as a feminine neutral. The bed and bedding was replaced. For redecorating advice, call 0488457066 to book an appointment
17.01.2022 A bit of early 80's Parker furniture. I think the guy on the couch might be using the Anchorman line "I don't know if you know, but I'm kind of a big deal, I have many leather bound books and my office smells like rich mahogany"

12.01.2022 I bought a large 1960’s Reproduction Queen Anne style dining table a few years ago. It had aged varnish which was yellowing and had a lot of wear and tear. I finally have sanded it back, here is a comparison of an extension insert I sanded next to the original. This project has been tricky as the top has a veneer and is a different timber to the legs, and there is a lot of fine detail. The table seats 12 when fully extended so is large and heavy too! To remove the old varnish..., I used a course grained sandpaper and an orbital sander. With a veneer, I think a belt sander can be a bit over kill and could go right through the veneer so I err on the side of caution. Once all the varnish is off, I continue with a finer grain and keep reducing the courseness of the sandpaper until the timber feels lovely and smooth. Remember if your new to sanding to use even pressure and move the orbital sander in rotations evening across the timber. I used a hand held mouse sander for the details. I left a lot of varnish because I wanted a bit of a rustic look, and, let’s face it, it’s too much work to remove all the little bits!

11.01.2022 My Grandparents weren’t European but they loved their hard wearing green vinyl faux chesterfield three seater with matching recliner pair. It lived in the darkened front room (to protect it from sun damage) and was kept dust free with its plastic cover for many years. Nanny was also a big fan of clear plastic hall runners....everywhere. 09.01.2022 What do you think? Accurate or rubbish? I'm a Virgo, I didn't like the room they picked to represent my taste at all but the description was very accurate! http://www.insideout.com.au//how-to-decorate-for-your-star
08.01.2022 Some of the many Mid Century pieces I refreshed and sold a few years ago. I still love the Sleek Teak furniture! Also below, a link to one of my favourite soft furnishings online store and their modern takes on Mid Century decor accessories. https://society6.com/collection/mid-century-mod
08.01.2022 House & Garden 1982, no such thing as too much polyester!
01.01.2022 I thought I'd share a flashback and please share yours too! This was my bedroom in 1987, it came with the wallpaper, which I LOVED, the rest was my 13 year old doing. I painted mum and Dads grey Planet lamp pink (Nooooo!) I don't know why I had the granny doorstop on my bed, you can see she weighed it down . I loved those miserable clowns - though I hate clowns, and the cane mirror and bear pictures, well, clearly the height of style!
