25.01.2022 Excursion to Pats yesterday, with lots of beautiful outdoor play and having a picnic with our day care friends

24.01.2022 Happy Fathers Day to all of the daddys, step dads, foster dads, granddads, soon to be dads and mums doing both roles and any of our lost dads, big loves to everyone

24.01.2022 Set up this little hut for the children and this morning they had to find it:) Alloura found it first and giggled, luca and Delilah found it next and then noticed a little tree behind it that they have never shown interest in before and now say its the best tree to climb on:) lol Louis put all the dinosaurs in there, will be fun to see what they take to their hut.

23.01.2022 Awe these 3 today:)

23.01.2022 Aaliyah having a cuddle with Amy.

22.01.2022 I call these sticky art, we made these for our beautiful mums and dads. I used clear book cover with a card frame, the children could stick on anything they liked, then I covered the top with more book cover, so cute and easy to do and the children were so happy with their creations.

21.01.2022 Mmm cups of honey tea and warm chocolate with a cookie for afternoon tea, is quickly becoming a delicious afternoon treat for my team.

20.01.2022 Renovated kitchen means new play equipment for children:)

20.01.2022 Todays fun...we had Melissa and her children for a play date today, Luca loved showing the children our new wood working set, we played in the sandpit and climbing frames, did some colouring, played with some blocks and enjoyed lunch with our little friends.

19.01.2022 Happy holidays everyone:) hope your all having a lovely break with your families, see you on Monday.

19.01.2022 Merry Xmas to all of these beautiful children:)

18.01.2022 We met Bec’s beautiful little puppies, the children thought they were super cute.:)

18.01.2022 Last week we had dress up day for book week, I was Theodore from ‘Theodore’s Mexican adventure’ we also had a Spider-Man, ballerina and iron man. Dress up’s allow children to dream, hope, and use their imagination. It gives children permission to pretend to be someone or something different and extraordinary that reflects their personality and current interests and promotes more independence by allowing children to practice self-care skills.

17.01.2022 This week we also had a visit from another educator and her children, we fed the magpies, that come right down to us now and take food from our hand, we showed our friends some wood working skills and and did a leaf drawing followed by some nature play in the yard. Day care is the age when your child starts to make friends and build friendships. Having playdates and providing opportunities for your child to meet new friends and learn about how friends are generous, kind, thoughtful and caring.

17.01.2022 Excursion to Becs today, with a collection of empty drink bottles and hallway becoming a bowling alley. One of the many activities we can use for sustainability in a care setting.

16.01.2022 We had a birthday this week with miss Delilah turning 4, happy birthday Delilah from your day care family. Xx

16.01.2022 Getting out and about again has been so great and the children have really benefited from seeing new things, having new experiences and catching up with their friends. They enjoyed meeting Becs new chickens and trying out her new toys and activities. thank you Bec, that was awesome.

16.01.2022 Alloura making up her own fun, love it:))

16.01.2022 Awe these guys, making sure everythings sparkly clean, thank you Allys team.

15.01.2022 Some of last weeks pic’s:)Halloween craft, making scary plate faces. We had a lovely visit from another educator and her children, what a great day busy morning.

14.01.2022 These gorgeous little knitted baskets are super cute and the children loved them, colour matching at its finest:) As well as colour recognition, matching and sorting activities help children to develop a range of thinking skills and build the foundations for later concepts. The visual memory and discrimination involved and the identification of patterns and relationships and similarity and difference help children to learn about early representation and problem solving. Matching and sorting activities can also be good for developing fine motor skills.

14.01.2022 Little Amy is loving this whole hat thing:)

13.01.2022 Music fun. Alloura wanted to attach the bells to her ankles and run around jingling, Louis and Luca thought that was a great idea and followed suit. I started teaching them to play Mary had a little lamb they thought that was hilarious, not sure if they were laughing at me or my playing lol Exposing children to music during early development helps them learn the sounds and meanings of words.

13.01.2022 These two little cuties:) Freja is being mother hen and loves to show Alloura things, she was telling Alloura that this colour is red.

13.01.2022 This weeks visit to Melissas house where the childrens favourite thing at the moment is Emma wiggle and yellow is the favourite colour, we extended on this by using yellow in a different context, we also talked about colours as we painted. we painted the brick wall and the Perspex, it was interesting that they all like painting the bricks better and stayed at that wall much longer. Talking about the paint colours helps to build your toddler's word knowledge and colour concepts. Talking about the way the paintbrush is moving e.g. up, down, across, around, is helping your toddler learn the words and concept of direction.

12.01.2022 Craft, music and rice play. Getting creative and extending from previous activities. Children learn best when they can use all their senses, and crafting is one teaching tool that allows children a wide variety of experiences.

12.01.2022 Our maggies have been popping in a lot at the moment, I think their could be babies somewhere because these two are very hungry. We started with one, we think its a girl, then last years baby started visiting with her so now we have 2, we think the second one is a boy, and beacause were not really sure and didnt know what they were we called them, Daddy maggie and Baby Maggie. I have started talking with the children about giving them better names but they like the names we have now lol

12.01.2022 Graduation day yesterday for this young man, congratulations Luca, heading off to school in January

12.01.2022 Wood work fun, after playing with hammers at another educators house last week, I decided to set up our own wood working station, with a new tool set and safety gear and an assortment of wood pieces, wow wasnt this a hit, we must have easily spent and hour with this activity with the children all making something to take home. There is something really special about woodwork. It is so different from other activities. The smell and feel of wood, using real tools, working with a natural material, the sounds of hammering and sawing, hands and minds working together to express their imagination and to solve problems, the use of strength and coordination: all combine to captivate young childrens interest. It provides a truly unique experience.

11.01.2022 My big children having a teddy bears picnic:) These children will develop many skills through play. They will develop their language skills, emotions, creativity and social skills. ... Through this, they can learn essential skills such as problem solving, working with others, making new friendships, sharing and much more.

10.01.2022 How fun is this building set, Alloura and Louis with a little patience both figured out how to create using the tools available. This can teach children artistry, ingenuity, industry, and even the basics of carpentry.

10.01.2022 This mornings fun, making a mote around the rocks and driving cars through it, this was Lucas game and the other children joined in, what a great shared idea, thank you Luca:)

10.01.2022 This is just what we needed, the children have been asking to go to the park and see their friends, so yesterday we were able to go out again and it was fabulous. We met up with Melissa and her children and after loads of playing we walked along the path behind the park, we collected sticks, we ran on the grass, found bugs and watched some builders building a fence. The weather was beautiful and you cant beat that wonderful fresh air.

09.01.2022 Excursion to Pats yesterday, its so great to enjoy spending time with our friends and learning new skills in all kinds of environments. The children had fun on the balancing hikes, played with slime, did some colouring and then we finished off with reading The Very Hungry Caterpillar were we re-enacted the story with a story board.

09.01.2022 Omgosh these little eyes:) this is Lola.

09.01.2022 Having new friends to visit is always fun, Luca and Isla became instant friends, how easy life is when your little:) Making friends is an important part of your childs development at day care and friendships often develop as children play together.

08.01.2022 Welcome little Amy, settling in so well and a beautiful addition to our team, she loves the bigger children and today loved chatting to the dolls, she giggles at the dogs and wants to get right in amongst it all, very confident and happy:))

07.01.2022 How cute are my team:) Delilah reading to Freja and Freja helping Alloura with the shape sorter. Working together builds skills that help them with friendships now and in the future. These are skills like sharing, taking turns, cooperating, listening to others, managing disagreement, and negotiating different ways of thinking about things.

06.01.2022 We started some mini gardens this week, with the children choosing a coloured pot, we added little flowering plants and will now keep our little plants happy and see if we can get them to grow some beautiful flowers. The children can practice body management skills and object control skills while they move from one place to the other carrying tools, soil and water. They will be moving their bodies using large muscles and using muscles to balance and manage objects too. Fine motor skills such as whole-hand grasping and the pincer grasp (necessary skills for writing) are employed in gardening when children use a trowel or rake and pick up tiny seeds to plant. Further, being outdoors in the fresh air and moving around a lot is a good way to get exercise.

06.01.2022 Puzzles and magnet blocks, creativity for young minds. Alloura loves the magnet blocks, she literally comes back to these multiple times during the day and the other children often join her. It was Dakotas first day too, what a cutie and she fitted in like shes been here forever, she attached herself to a toy kitchen tray and kept that with her for ages, then enjoyed exploring with her new friends. Luca and Louis were pretty pleased with the new chain saw and garden tools, Luca was trying to cut down all of my trees lol and Louis was fixing the fence with hammers.

05.01.2022 Excursion last week to another educators house, thank you to Kelly, the children had a great time, luca loved building things, Delilah has a new furry friend called Milo and Freja enjoyed the water play and making new friends too.

05.01.2022 My little team with todays fun, dress ups, colouring, horse races and cars. We also did some colour matching, practiced our names, singing and story time:)) phew lets plan some more fun things for tomorrow.

03.01.2022 Exciting morning here for my little team, we had a camera man and 1 of our day care providers from We Belong to video us to promote We Belong Family care which is a fabulous scheme by the way They were fascinated by the camera and what was going on, and Simon (camera man) almost inherited 2 children, they liked him a lot.

03.01.2022 Making and creating with play dough, the children chose yellow because it looks like the sun they said Creativity and imagination With playdough, young children express their ideas through art and make-believe play. At the same time, they learn symbolic thinking by pretending that the playdough is something else, anything they like.

02.01.2022 Singing, music and story time fun. Music ignites all areas of child development and skills for school readiness, including intellectual, social-emotional, motor, language, and overall literacy. It helps the body and the mind work together. I love watching how excited children get with these beautiful experiences.

02.01.2022 The children were making an ant house they said.

02.01.2022 I say no to that Santa hat.
