25.01.2022 Lets take our mind off the craziness and uncertainty happening at the moment and spread a little bit of humor and positivity instead! Share the most unflattering pic of your dog, cat, horse or any animal below in the comments to bring a much needed smile or laugh to everyones faces. 24.01.2022 ! Composition. What is composition? Its how you frame and place your subjects within the photograph. The aim is to make the image visually appealing and balanced. ... The most basic but very important composition rule is The rule of thirds. You might have noticed the grid lines on your phone or camera? this is the rule of thirds. The lines divide the image up into thirds both vertically and horizontally. If you place your subject on the intersection (red dots in the image below) or on one of the lines itself this is thought to make a strong balanced image. Forget the standard centre framed photo and try something different. Play around with different positionings and see what you think! Let me know if you found this helpful and as always feel free to make suggestions for next weeks tip
24.01.2022 R E M I + K L A U S + P E P P E R + P O P P Y + M E E K A Sneak Peek ... I'm not sure what kind of magic was in the air yesterday but I'm loving it! A five pupper family shot within 15 minutes! Absolutely amazing Here's a little bit more about each one of these beautiful puppers! "Remi my overly boisterous puppy broke her jaw at 12 weeks of age and has taken everything in her stride and not let it set her back in any way. Remi is the typical spoilt last child princess. She gets everything she wants and demands the worlds attention. Klaus my sweet, loving and loyal boy loves to play with his squeaky ball and give cuddles! He is the typical middle child, the one always in the middle and doesn’t like conflict. Pepper is the boss! She runs the household and although she can be quite playful and boisterous, she is also quite quiet and stern. Pepper is the typical bossy oldest child. She lets the others know when she has had enough play by taking the toy away, she knows exactly what she wants and when she wants it. Poppy, my oldest and littlest is as playful as a puppy and loves to run around. She loves meeting new people and dogs and sleeping on top of the couch. Poppy doesn’t get along with her younger, much bigger siblings, they play too rough for her and she has small dog syndrome. Meeka loves pats and cuddles, once you pat her she won’t leave you alone. She just adores human love and attention. Meeka comes if as being tough and imposing but is actually a little scaredy cat and will run or go belly up any the drop of a pin. Meeka is a lover not a fighter"
24.01.2022 Two days ago it was 18 with the smell of spring in the air. This morning its 7 and snowing just up the road! Obviously I had to go play in it

21.01.2022 What a gorgeous boy!
21.01.2022 D A I S Y + F A T T Y Sneak Peek Look at these two gorgeous beach babes loving life! ... Their Mum Angel say's "Daisy is a super special girl with an enormous / hilarious personality. She absolutely loves smells, any smell ! We were camping at the beach and I was walking along the shore with both my fur babies, I saw a dead shark up ahead about 12 foot long. It absolutely stunk and was truly decomposing, I had my nose covered approaching it. We walked past I didn’t think any more of it. Daisy was no longer in front of me only fatty, I looked back and there was Daisy with the happiest face you can imagine drool from ear to ear throwing her body onto the shark with full force and ‘rolling’ in the smell, I was horrified this smell was something else, it was enough to make me gag. Just when I’m thinking this can’t get worse Daisy gets up still with the happiest face you can imagine quite proud of her efforts so far and stoked she’d been so lucky to find this amazing smell. She then curls her body of the dead sharks face/head and starts humping it at a pace I can’t describe. I was totally disgusted but also laughing uncontrollably. My mum had rescued fatty from a farm in our local area when he was only 6 weeks old, my mum was in love she had always wanted a kelpie. I moved home at this time when fatty was about 3 months old to save to buy a property. Of course a year in I had totally fallen in love with that fluffy lovable little guy, he slept with me every night. When it came time for me to move back out I cried about leaving fatty until my mum agreed to let me have him. He’s been my shadow and soul mate ever since 6 years ago "

19.01.2022 M E L O + S T E L L A Sneak Peek My heart cannot take the amount of cuteness in this photo oh-my-gosh! These two super stars where so much fun to photograph! ... Their Mum Annie says "They are both the most loyal dogs! Stella loves to be with you at all times and Melo loves to talk to you about how excited she is to see you."
19.01.2022 ! Switching to manual mode on DLSRs If your ready to up your game and feel like you want more control over your photography, switching from auto mode to manual is the natural next step. ... It can be super confusing at first, with all the numbers and different settings but to begin with you want to focus on the three most important settings. 1. Shutter speed 2. Aperture or F stop 3. ISO They are the top three settings on the cameras screen (for canon, Im not sure about other models) All these settings control how light affects the image. Shutter speed does exactly what it describes, controls the shutter speed. The measurements are in fractions of a second, for example 1/500 means one five hundredith of a second and 1/10 means one tenth of a second. To capture fast movement of a running dog or horse you want a high shutter speed such as 1/800 or above. To capture slow movement in low light youd want a slow shutter speed such as 1/200 or even lower for blurring water; 1/8. - Next up is Aperature, which appears as F2.8 (for example the number changes) Aperature controls the amount of light thats let in, and depth of field (how seperated the subject is from the background) For alot of light, with only the subject in focus and a blurred background you want the Fstop wide open at F2.8 - F4 depending on how low your lens goes. For everything in focus and restricted light entering the camera youd want a higher setting such as F11 or above. To keep it simple the smaller the Fstop the more light let in and seperation of the subject. The higher the Fstop the more in focus and less light let in. - And lastly ISO, this controls the sensors sensitivity to light. In low light youd want to raise to ISO and in good lighting youd lower it to the lowest setting (ISO100) Raising the ISO high can bring in more noise (grainy texture) to the image and lower the quality. Keep the ISO as low as you can and raise it when necessary. HACK: to see what setting you may need, take a photo in auto, if it looks good check what settings the camera used then put those settings into manual and play around. Getting used to manual mode takes time and experimenting. Just go out and play around and have fun. If you have any questions Im happy to help! Just shoot me a pm. As always please let me know what other tips you may like

17.01.2022 M I L L I E + S P E N C E R Sneak Peak These two where so much fun to photograph! Absolute superstars ... Here's abit more about them and the sweetest engagement story ever by their Dad, Chris "Both are rescues. Spencer was first, my partner got him as soon as we got a house and after our back fence got fixed after being blown down. Two years later, I snuck Spencer out and told her I was taking him to work. I secretly was visiting another rescue to get Millie. I then used Millie as a surprise gift on my partner's birthday with the family all over for lunch with another special gift attached to her collar - an engagement ring. Of course she said yes."

14.01.2022 R O O Sneak Peek Awh! So beautiful! Just loved photographing Roo and his family ... His Mum Carolyn say's "Roo's a tender little guy who wants to get on with our 2 cats but one hasn't been very kind to him. Escaping the yard seems to be a priority. He sneaks into our beds, enjoys a trip in the car and is not confident around horses or cattle."
13.01.2022 ! Try photographing your pets at Golden Hour, this is the hour before sunset or the hour after sunrise. With the sun low in the sky it provides a beautiful flattering light, full of warm orange tones. ... . Pick an open background. Somewhere where other houses or buildings wont block the light. . Get down low to your pets eye level. . Play around with the angles of light, try having your subject back lit (light coming from behind) or off the the side to capture some rays. Get creative! . Have fun! Enjoy the moment As always feel free to make suggestions for future tips in the comments and post your snaps aswell!

09.01.2022 I posted this image to my insta awhile ago and forgot to share it here with my facebook fam! Theres so much I love about this photo. The herd, the harmony, the energy. Its like theyre dancing! ... This was such an incredible session, capturing images of a large herd (50+ horses) to be used in a book. All in amazing condition, able to roam over hundreds of acres. Probably the closest thing to how the brumbies live but domesticated. What a sight it was to see a huge mob galloping up the hillside, a moment that catches your breath as you watch in awe. Truly an experience I wont forget in a hurry! What caption comes to mind when you see this image? Id love to hear what you think of! Comment below Feel free to share

07.01.2022 ! Is your phone or camera filled with lots of blurry or notsogreat photos of your furbaby? Do they always look away at the last second? ... If you want to nail the shot in less clicks and less frustration keep reading! . Get low, and then lower again. At or below your subjects eye level gives the feel of their perspective and keeps their body in proportion. . Have your back to the light source (sun, window light ect) and your subject facing you. This illuminates their face and keeps even light on your subject. . Use treats, toys, or voice cues to get their attention. Hold the treat or toy just above your lens or phone so your subject looks directly at you. Make sure you make it worth your pets while. If they get lots of praise and yummies they will be more likely to enjoy the experience and avoid becoming camera shy. If your pet isnt feelin it, wait for another day. . Have patience... give your pet lots of breaks. The more preparation you do before getting the shot the easier it will be. Get yourself in postion, have the treats/toys ready, be ready to click that shutter. . Most importantly. Have FUN! Get silly and enjoy the moment! We remember the time that we took the photo so making the experience a happy one is important! If you liked these tips let me know in the comments any others you might like! And if you try these tips out be sure to post the results in the comments! Happy snapping!

05.01.2022 Tip Tuesday! Photographing black dogs. Black dogs can be tricky, getting their face lit evenly and having them not look like a shadow can be very testing. But heres some tips that should help with that! ... 1. Lighting - now i know what your thinking, you probably think that bright light is the way to go to light up those dark floofsters...nope! youre going to do the opposite. If its a sunny day you want to find some shade under a tree. If its an overcast day PERFECT! The clouds act as a diffuser and create a soft even light. Have your dog (either in the shade or overcast day) facing the light source (sun) 2. Background - Choose an area with a simple uncluttered background, if you have a dark background behind your subject, he might blend in to it too much. Choose somewhere with trees/greenery off in the distance or an open area that is lighter than your dog. 3. Position - Get lower than their eye level or have your dog look directly up at you (this is good for fluffy or long haired dogs if you cant easily see their eyes) 4. Focus on the eyes, if you can select your focus point make sure its on the eyes. 3. Use treats to get attention and lots of praise! If your dog isnt a treat fan make weird noises, like i mean the weirdest high pitched squeakes you can do, your dog and neighbours might think your crazy but thats ok. Anything for the photo right? 4. Edit your photo - adjust the exposure and tweek your photo until its just right! Lightroom is a great app to use on y o ur phone or computer. 5. Have fun! The most important part! Be sure to post your snaps below in the comments and let me know what other tips you might like next week!

03.01.2022 B A I L E Y Sneak Peek Doesn't that happy face just melt your heart?! This beautiful boy was just the sweetest, instantly stole my heart! ... His Mum Jess says "Everynight bailey has to tuck himself next to my daughter and get his bedtime story read to him. He’s quite literally been with me through everything, From my first boyfriend to the birth of my daughter, my first car to moving out, he’s been there!"
02.01.2022 ! For camera shy puppers. Camera lenses can look like a massive eye to pets, and understandably this can make them wary. Along with the appearance cameras make a clicking noise when the shutter goes off, this sometimes can be even more worrying to sensitive puppers. ... Rest assured though with a little time, patience and alot of praise aswell as treats, your camera shy doggo will soon love being in the spotlight! . Get your dogs favourite treats and lots of them! Small pieces are best. . Find a place free of distractions so you will be your dogs main focus. Sit at their level, so on the ground or as close to it as possible. . Have your camera sitting on your lap or next to you where your dog can see it, dont pick it up yet. . Start by giving your dog treats and pats. Even though the camera hasnt been touched yet your dog knows its there. If your dog is happy and relaxed move onto the next step, if they arent, stay at this step for as long as they need. . Pick up the camera turn it on but face it away from your dog. Press the shutter and take a picture (dont worry about what your taking a picture of, the aim is just to associate the shutter sound with treats) With each click give your dog a treat and praise! Do this until theyre no longer bothered by the shutter and are just focusing on the treats - around 10 - 15 shutter clicks. Once theyre relaxed move on to the next step. . Face the camera towards your dog but dont look through the view finder just hold it about chest height and see how your dog feels about that, if theyre worried reassure them, each time they look in the direction of the camera give them a treat. If their relaxed and happy, practice the same "click and treat" method and gradually, as they become more comfortable raise the camera up to your eye. . Once the cameras at your eye then start holding the treat next to the lens to pull your dogs focus there. Repeat the "click and treat" method, once they are happy and comfortable looking towards the lens, finish the session there. . Cuddle and love on your pupper for being brave! Note: You may have to repeat this process a few or many times. Go at your dogs pace theres no need to rush. If your dog at any point becomes upset, end the session there and try again another time, theyre happiness is the main priority. As always feel free to leave a suggestion for next weeks tip!
02.01.2022 M A X Sneak Peek Would you just look at that gorgeous face! Oh-my-gosh the cutest! ... Although Max look's like butter wouldn't melt, he has a cheeky side! His Mum Fiona say's "Max was home alone and he was looking for food. He ripped open a bag from the couch that had tissues in it. When we got home there was tissues everywhere. It was like a snow storm had hit our lounge room." Such a fun session with this beautiful boy! I love my job
02.01.2022 D Y L A N + N E L L I E Sneak Peek Those smiles! ... These two came into their fur-parents lives in a pretty special way, you could say it was meant to be! Their Mum Ebony say's "My husband and I decided it was finally time to get a pet! We decided we wanted a rescue - we are not too sure how we came to a greyhound but have seen a few as pets so researched them and found they suited our lifestyle. Unfortunately everyone had the same idea so our attempts to even find one to adopt were not going very well. Finally got a call from Gippsland Greyhounds saying they had a boy available but he had a little dust up with a car in foster care. We went to meet him the next day - he was much bigger than I was expecting but he was such a sweet boy. We said we would adopt him, but had to wait a couple of weeks until his foot healed up. He finally came home on the 1st of April and the rest is history! As for Nellie, a few months into having Dylan we felt he was lonely and needed a companion. Dylan is a special boy and is a bit particular. We fostered another grey but she was a bit too much for him, so I contacted Gippsland Greyhounds again on the off chance they had a litter mate or another dog from the same trainer they were trying to rehome. They got back to me to say they had his Mum!!! She came for a meet and greet which went well, Dylan is always friendly to house guests so I will never really know if they knew they were mother and son. The meet and greet went well and a few days later we arranged to have her open for a sleepover. She came over and never left!!! They get along well, they mostly leave each other alone but seem to enjoy having the company! We love them both so much and are so glad we are able to give them the spoilt life for the rest of their days! It has been so nice watching them come out of their shell, especially Dylan! He is so much more playful now!"
01.01.2022 R US T Y + D U S T Y Sneak Peek "The first time we laid eyes on dusty it was just meant to be, we had to take him home! ... Little rusty came along a little unexpectedly, but he has been the best thing we ever did! They are the best brothers and I wouldn't change a thing for the world!" - Their Mum Rhi say's.
