25.01.2022 Support for the Zoo is gaining momentum. Check out the facts in the post below. Head over to Logan City Council and have your say! #SaveTheZoo

24.01.2022 Dear loyal Alma Park Zoo friends We have received some very sad news in relation to the proposed Zoo site at Logan. As you may have heard on the news, Main Roads are expanding the M1 at Logan to create the Coomera Connector (duplication of the M1 motorway) to cater for growth in the Southeast Queensland corridor. This means that the proposed zoo site at Logan cannot go ahead. We are now looking for a new Zoo site between Brisbane and the Gold Coast, close to public transpo...rt and local amenities. Any ideas? Thank you all again for your ongoing support. It means a lot to us. See more

20.01.2022 Finally...we may now find out the real reason why LCC terminated the Agreement to build to Zoo https://www.brisbanetimes.com.au//logan-mayor-luke-smith-c

20.01.2022 Hi there. It is a very sad day for all of us today as we close the gates for the last time at our beautiful Alma Park Zoo at Dakabin! Thank you to everyone who has continued to support us over the years. We have truly appreciated your friendship. Please visit the new Queensland Zoo at the Big Pineapple site you will see most of the animals there as well as many of the staff. We will keep you posted as to the progress of the construction of the new Alma Park Zoo at Logan at the old Antiques building site on the Highway. So instead of good bye.... it is really... until we meet again! Again thank you thank you thank you!

19.01.2022 Hi there fb friends! We have only 6 days until we close the gates at Alma! We did promise to keep you updated but we had to wait until licences were in place to announce that the animals will be relocated to the new "Queensland Zoo" located at the old Big Pineapple site! Julie the current manager and many of the zookeepers will be relocating to this site too and will continue to care for the animals in the same fabulous way Alma is known for. This is the very last weekend coming up that we are open at Alma so pack up a picnic basket and visit us as a family for one last time!

19.01.2022 Check out Albert & Logan news fb page The CCC has issued another search warrant at Logan City Council. CCC issues new search warrant on an individual at Logan council At least three search warrants and notices to disclose have been issued at council since December as part of Operation Belcarra.... http://www.couriermail.com.au//a6b0ff122e98cc6e8779e2886fc

18.01.2022 Hi there. I know it’s been a while since our last post but we finally have some news. As you all know we have been battling the Logan City Council in the Supreme Court to try and get the Zoo built as per our agreement with Logan. The news is we finally have a Trial date set for March. We have a strong case so hopefully we will have good news for you all after that. It is nothing but outrageous the amount of money the Logan City Council must have spent to date of ratepayers... money on legal fees to defend us building the Zoo. The Zoo will benefit the community of Logan by providing tourism and jobs for locals especially those after school and school holiday jobs for the youth of Logan See more

18.01.2022 Hi fb friends! On site today saving some of those beautiful trees before the construction begins of the new housing estate. You will be pleased to know some trees are being relocated to the new site at Logan and others to private places and others will stay and we hope work in with the developer :)

16.01.2022 We are extremely pleased to hear that mayoral candidate, Brett Raguse, has offered us his strong support, saying that he will do whatever he can to make sure Alma Park Zoo comes to Logan if he is elected Mayor. #SaveTheZoo!

15.01.2022 Hi loyal Alma Park Zoo followers. We know it has been a while since we have communicated with you but we felt we had to let you know that we have posted on the Albert & Logan News fb page as below in response to a post on the site where we planned to build the Zoo in Logan. No doubt there are going to be many ratepayers of Logan upset that the ratepayers are funding the Logan Council in our battle in the Supreme Court that is still ongoing to try and get the Zoo built. If...Continue reading

13.01.2022 Facebook friends, Alma Park Zoo hasn’t given up trying to build the new #Zoo at #Logan! Our Supreme Court battle with Logan City Council made it to Page 3 of today's Albert & Logan News. 12.01.2022 Hi there to all of our Alma Park Zoo friends! We apologise for not keeping in touch but to be honest we didn’t want to post until we had some news. We have had a dreadful time dealing with Logan Council and while we would not normally comment on these issues publicly we have been left with no choice. There is a lot of false information out there about the Zoo and why it hasn’t been constructed so over the next few days we will be posting details of the sequence of events for... anyone who wants to know the real facts. In summary the Logan Council have caused the delay in construction of the new Zoo. They have attempted to change the commercial terms of the Agreement. They have failed to comply with the terms of the Agreement and have frustrated our attempts to get on site and start construction. We have had our construction team on standby since 2014. Every way we turned we were obstructed by the Logan Council from building the new Zoo. We are determined the Zoo should be built. If anyone is interested in the story that was released yesterday by Albert and Logan News, here is the link: http://bit.ly/1W80AY7. We would like to thank you all for being so loyal and supportive during this time. Let’s #SaveTheZoo! See more

09.01.2022 Hi everyone! As you may have seen in the press over the weekend, Alma Park Zoo is exploring the amazing opportunity of going to Redlands. While it is very early days yet, we can say that discussions are definitely underway. We are also considering a number of sites both in and out of Redlands.... You might like to check out the Facebook page, Friends of Alma Park Zoo Redlands, which has been set up by supporters of the Zoo moving to Redlands. We're sure they would love your support so feel free to head over and like their page too! It would be fantastic to have Alma Park Zoo back again and we look forward to continuing our discussions with Redlands Here is the news story in case you missed it: https://bit.ly/2ODoC0o

06.01.2022 Well done fb friends for contributing and hopefully making people aware of the plight of these beautiful primates

05.01.2022 Logan City Council has made a statement on its Facebook page regarding Alma Park Zoo. It seems they are not concerned about misinforming the public of the facts. If you're interested in our reply, you can read it below. Head over and show your support to #SaveTheZoo!

03.01.2022 Hi all! We have just noticed that Logan City Council has deleted our response post to Nona on their FB page! How unbelievable is that! Covering up factual information from the public is not going to go down well with the people of Logan. Spread the word everyone - let's #SaveTheZoo! Albert & Logan News

02.01.2022 Once again we would like to thank everyone for your loyalty and support over the past 24 hours. The Zoo owners are truly humbled. Word is spreading with the story featured in the Herald Sun in Melbourne and even in Perth Now! Keep up the great work so we can all #SaveTheZoo!
