25.01.2022 All set for day 2 of The Wooden Boat Festival. Yesterday was fantastic, even making some new friends from Pacific Offshore Rigging in San Diego who gifted us a flag :) Look forward to talking to heaps of great people again today! #DeckHardware, #Liros, #DrSails, #PacificOffshoreRigging

23.01.2022 Clients often question why we prefer to remove a mast to replace the standing rigging. Also there is often questions why wire halyards should be replaced with rope. This is a 40yo 30ft yacht and not sure if the mast has ever been out before. The bolt on my knee holds the cap shrouds and if it breaks, so does the mast! The wear on the spreader is from leaving a wire spinnaker halyard attached to the mast base when not being used

18.01.2022 Got headsail halyard wrap issues? Almasts manufacture halyard deflection blocks that come with the complete block, metal threads and driver bit to suit and the drill bit for the correct size holes. Contact us for pricing

16.01.2022 How's your docklines in this wind? Recently used this 16mm hollow core dockline on a 42 footer, stretched beautifully so no jerking and stronger than 20mm silver rope. Well priced to!! Contact Ben on 0498 980 201 for a quote of just to chat about your options.

16.01.2022 Another successful Reefit install, this time on a lovely S&S 37.

16.01.2022 Been splicing week down here. New main, kite and jib halyard for, well that's pretty obvious from the photo!!

15.01.2022 So recently I conducted a talk with the Cruising YC of Tas, Women on Watee group, on dyneema and making soft shackles. This was my second talk with these amazing ladies who were so receptive, interested and determined to get the soft shackle right. If you are involved in a YC, group or club who might be interested in a talk from us, please get in contact. Talk subjects can be just about anything rigging or rope related, including dyneema and soft shackles, DIY basic rig checks and Furlers 101.

15.01.2022 Another successful re-rig, this one on Bill and Jan's beautiful Cabo Rico 38. Quite the story behind this boat, designed by William Crealock and built in South America. Turns out I did the rigging last time it was done in WA while working at Boating Hardware!!

14.01.2022 Why should you get someone to check over your mast and rigging regularly?

13.01.2022 Come and see Almasts and DeckHardware at The Wooden Festival at stand 67 in Princess Wharf 1. #Reefit, #Deckhardware, #Antal, #Liros

13.01.2022 It's hard at the top sometimes!

13.01.2022 Got a call from the owner of a 53ft cat who destroyed this screecher halyard on the trip from WA. End for ended with new dynex tip and Liros chafe guard. Contact us for all your splicing needs

08.01.2022 Sydney Harbour at it’s best today! A perfect day to commission a new ONESAILS - www.onesails.com PFR furling spinnaker. Made from high quality Contender Sailclo...th and featuring a Seldén Mast GX10 top down furler, a custom length furling line by Almasts Australia paired with the excellent Allen Sailing snatch blocks from DeckHardware. The proud owners of ‘One Mo Time' Christine and Duncan commented We are really pleased with how easy our new sail is to use, we can’t wait to use it on our long journey north! See more

05.01.2022 A little bit of a different splicing job. Owner of the Inglis 58 Thriller (previously Walk on the Wildside) needed new kite and jib sheets but had heaps of dyneema. So I ordered in cover from IRB and pushed through 100m of dyneema, not a quick task! Soft shackle attachments all round. Halyards were finished with Liros chafe guard and Liros waxed dyneema for all whippings. Then got to take the beast for a sail today!! Been about 18 years since I last sailed on here in WA :))... Weren't pushing and she had a dirty bum, but man she's quick!! Liros Ropes, DeckHardware, International Rope Braid See more

04.01.2022 10mm spectra main halyard with integrated soft shackle. All one piece meaning no shackle to fall out of the splice!
