24.01.2022 I can often replace slides on zippers if this happens. As long as the zipper teeth are in tact a faulty slide can be replaced. It often takes me more time to find the correct fitting slide than the actual repair.

24.01.2022 After a very hectic lead up to weddings and the early formals in September, I had to break for a few days last week while I drove down to Victoria to be with family after losing my Aunt to Cancer. Sad that you can't connect in person with family more often due to time, distance and well just life, but at such a sad time for our family, seeing each other and spending time together was very much needed. Back home and back into getting through this lot before the next wave of formal alterations for the formals coming up in October/November. The red dress is destined to be made short but I have a little plan to make it a short dress with 2 different styles. Stay tuned, I'll post photos when I'm done, it may be a few weeks though! Happy Wednesday everybody.

23.01.2022 Happy New Year everyone. I have been on holidays for two weeks over the festive season. We got back home Monday, unpacked just before that massive storm hit us and then yesterday, sorting and cleaning and packing away. Today is my oldest daughter Kellie's 18th birthday! I can't believe I have an adult offspring! So dinner tonight to celebrate for and with her. But with only 3 weeks til school goes back, I'm back at work with available times to sort your back to school uniform needs. Don't wait til the last minute. Look forward to seeing you.

20.01.2022 Here’s a challenge for me. I’ll show what I’m doing soon. Retro denim jacket where the collar has frayed through.

19.01.2022 Happy 2019 everyone! It’s been a bit of a sad start to my year, losing a much loved Uncle. But I am starting back sewing from tomorrow Tuesday 15th January. Get ready for school with uniform hems etc. appointments now available.

19.01.2022 So at some point we've all come across something like this. The pull on the zipper runner has broken off and the runner has fatigued and not pulling the teeth together. More often than not this is a simple repair instead of replace, which is so much less time for me and a lot more economical for you! Watch this space!

19.01.2022 I cannot wait to see these around town!! Great lightweight calico bag, and a great keepcup, stop single use and keep this handy! Double walled, screw on lid and how sleek does it look!! Only available on the night everyone so if you want one and you don't have a ticket, find someone who does and get them to grab you one. While they last!!!

19.01.2022 Due to needing to be with family in Victoria, I am away from 2nd to 13th March.

18.01.2022 My day today, hemming 56 scarves for a Central Coast group, Jubila Singers. Have no idea how many I've done so far and that last photo is what I have left.

18.01.2022 If you want to buy some raffle tickets for our Annual Cancer Council Fundraiser then let me know. Great prizes on offer and supporting a great cause. If you think you can help by selling some tickets for us, message me either here or on our page Girls Just Wanna Have Fun - NSW Central Coast Peninsula and I will arrange for a book of tickets to get to you and collect from you when sold.

16.01.2022 It’s been a very hectic year. I hope yours has been good. I recently made a Xmas scrub top for a friend and matched it with a bag.

16.01.2022 While I'm here I'm still sewing for my friend. Gotta earn my board and keep! Giving life to old jeans, cutting off for shorts and adding a fabric trim to the hem.

15.01.2022 Some of you know, but I am one of the committee who organize this annual event here on the NSW Central Coast Peninsula. In our 8th year, held at our local Ettalong Diggers Club raising funds for Cancer Council Hunter Central Coast for all women's cancers. We have two amazing raffles running right now in the lead up to our event this coming Saturday. Please check them out and get on board and buy some tickets. Great cause, awesome night of fun while supporting the cause.

14.01.2022 Happy December everyone!! Wow! A little over 2 weeks til Christmas! This hit me like a wet blanket this morning! I have been extremely busy this year and it has not slowed down at all in the lead up to Christmas. I have just been looking at what I still have left to finish before I leave on holidays on the 24th December and I realise that I really cannot take on anymore work. I am full up for the next two weeks so if you have work for me, I am unable to commence work on it until 11th January, 2017. If you have anything you need done before Christmas, I may be able to refer you to another seamstress. Wishing everyone a very happy Christmas and a safe and enjoyable holiday season. Thanks to all my loyal and new customers and I look forward to being able to help you with your sewing needs in 2017.

13.01.2022 I’m pretty happy with this result. Customer does not like the feel of this as a wind cheater or jumper. It feels too high and tight around the neck. So I’ve inserted jacket zip in to open it up. You wouldn’t even know I’d just cut it straight up the centre!!

13.01.2022 This time last year I was returning from a whirlwind 3 day return drive to Victoria for my nephews wedding. His fiance had asked if I could help with her dress alterations. I arrived at my location on the Friday before the wedding at 4.30pm and it was a challenge as I finished around 8pm. The dress did not fit at all and the zipper could not be pulled up. I had to unpick the zip, refit to use some seam allowance and let out all seams as much as I could. I think it came out pretty good. It was a beautiful wedding and I was so happy to be part of it.

12.01.2022 A special order! Looks pretty good I think.

12.01.2022 Well I’m in the midst of silly season! Weddings, formals, and just about everything else you can imagine. I’ve taken over the living room so I can binge watch Netflix while Sewing. Lucky my family are so flexible! 6 weeks to Christmas

11.01.2022 Working on hemming large sized heavy duty blockout curtains today. Please don’t use double sided tape to hem. It leaves a residue very hard to remove and it can damage fabric.

10.01.2022 I have been quiet here but things have been pretty darn hectic over the last couple of months. Last Saturday 29th October was our Annual Pink Fundraiser for Cancer Council for which I am one of the organisers. We had approx 240 women attend and it was an amazing night. It's also formal season so I have been a little busy with that, but that is coming to an end as most formals will be over by end November. Tomorrow I'm starting sewing on a project for a recover of bali hut cushions to be ready for the 17th. My Dad is turning 70 on the 15th November and we are heading down to Victoria on the first weekend in December to celebrate with him and the whole family. It is the silly season for sure!

10.01.2022 This last couple of months have been extremely busy with formals amongst other things. I've had a few jobs where I have been outside my comfort zone and I've enlisted the help of YouTube and my sewing fraternity for advice. This was one of those jobs. I hadn't sewn this type of cover before in the vinyl which becomes quite heavy in this size. Considering I am not an upholsterer I'm pretty happy with how this came out using a domestic sewing machine, leather needles and a walking dog foot. I am loving the red and the reuse of some of the original orange covers. The original was piped but mine aren't as I just wasn't up to piping. I don't think it affects the look at all. Overall happy that I challenged myself on this.

10.01.2022 EDIT: my house has sold and my move is planned to be done by 4th July. My new chapter begins. But leaving this chapter is not easy. I’ve raised my children here, I have great friends and I’ve been so happy here. I’ve loved the work that my customers have brought to me. I am so terribly going to miss my Guiding network and my volunteer network. I have to keep telling myself, remember the big picture. I will of course be visiting as often as I can get away with. I thank you ...all for trusting me with your projects and work. I have 2 weeks left to sew for you before my final pack away. Thank you everyone. I’ll miss you all. Well following on from a tough year in 2020, losing my dad, my 18 year old daughter left home, the first of my three children to do so and she moved interstate, has been a huge adjustment for me. Some long term plans that my husband and I had for our retirement have been brought forward a bit quicker than we anticipated, due to husbands work restructuring we decided a month ago to sell up here and move down south to be closer to my family. It’s been a whirlwind month and right now we are in the midst of packing and decluttering and getting our home ready for sale, which we hope to have on the market by early May. So if you have any jobs you want me to do please get them to me within the next month and I’ll be able to get them done. Thank you everyone.
