22.01.2022 Driving a vehicle involves multi-tasking when it comes to manouvers. To help your student, think about breaking up a complex task into smaller isolations of the whole task and work on those. This will assist in learning the task both quickly and correctly. Example: A simple left turn... Read next post for more..

21.01.2022 Remember its a dangerous myth to think 1st to a roundabout has right of way. What if all of us are there at the same moment and no one stops? Check uproad and give way to vehicles close to your right including those close to you in the roundabout. Keep low risk

19.01.2022 Returning back after a hip operation as of july 20th. Now taking bookings for week beginning 27th. Still keeping covid cautious.

18.01.2022 Hi drivers. As a educator Aloha recognises that not all students possess the initial gross motor skills essentiall to controlling a vehicle. These skills include hand, foot and eye and brain coordination. As a parent its best to not presume these skills are inherrent in your protege even if they are "sporty". Instead, start in a quiet, zero traffic area to strengthen those skills before venturing into traffic.... Keep safe.

18.01.2022 On exiting roundabouts...from rms site. Going straight ahead: Do not signal when approaching the roundabout but always signal left before exiting a roundabout. You may approach the roundabout from either left or right lanes (unless there are road markings with other instructions), drive in the same lane through the roundabout and exit in the same lane.

17.01.2022 Aloha Driving School offers very low cost lessons for auto drivers. Lessons start at $48ph and are tailored to make you a low risk, safe and observant driver as per RMS requirements. 3 for 1 hours apply for under 25's. Remember no reason to pay high costs to learn how to drive.

16.01.2022 Merry Christmas to all of my fb contacts and viewers. Thank you to those that follow and share and supply the posts. Hopefully theyre helpful

15.01.2022 Remember to teach your prodigy to keep central in their lane (buffer zone). 1 slip up could see them under the wheels of a truck.

15.01.2022 Horriffcly true

14.01.2022 Important road skill #2 SCANNING: Scanning lets us; 1) keep centre of lane 2) see and react to hazards up ahead ... 3) keep safety space behind car in front 4) keep an eye on speedo 5) keep an eye on our surroundings 6) teachs us to keep car from swerving. Message me for the # 1 skill.

14.01.2022 Hi Drivers.. Breakdown tasks into smaller components when teaching your protege. For example drills for changing lanes and keeping in centre of lane. Practise averting gaze and checking mirrors (without steering) to build up confidence in vehicle control. Then when that is mastered practise looking over shoulders( without steering). Eventually go into judging distances from vehicles without moving over. Do these drills in a quiet street 1st keep 6 second space from car in ...front if on road. Keep safe.

14.01.2022 HOOK TURNS: Hook turns are a common problem in new drivers. A hook turn is small, sudden right or left steer just before turning l eft or right. It is a dangerous way to turn and stems from poor " on the road vision" as you approach the turn. Motor bike riders transitioning to cars tend to do it as well. Remember to keep parallel with kerb whilst turning and "see" the turn early on your approach.

12.01.2022 If you want your child to drive safely and be less anxious behind the wheel, always get a few professional lessons with an instructor FIRST. Theres no point in paying your hard earned $ if youve already moved into traffic, this can be a dangerous move as your child might over react to a situation.

07.01.2022 Important scanning skill #3 Hazard recognition and reacting.... Assessing potential and actual hazards ahead is a very important factor when scanning. Some haza...rds overlooked are; 1) Moving vehicles in adjoining lane blocking our vision of oncoming traffic when turning right on curves. 2) Lane lines not in same spot on other side of an intersection. 3) Vehicles over 7.5 m turning left from cente lane. 4) Yes! driving in the vicinity of learners. 5) Vegetation or fences on median strips. 6) Failure to understand that oncoming vehicles ALWAYS speed up to get through green lights. ....and others. Building up road hours and experiencing these challenges is an important aspect to your driving. KEEP SAFE.

07.01.2022 When teaching high skill tasks, try isolating the task at hand into smaller, easier to grasp components 1st. Driving requires compound thought given to multiple tasks. Try breaking up changing lanes into easier separate skills.

07.01.2022 Remember drivers covid 19 has little spikes that let it cling to ANYTHING AND ANY MATERIAL. When youre getting fuel use wipes to fillup, wear mask inside, keep 1.8m away when possible, use sanitiser on the counter after paying and BEFORE TOUCHING YOUR CARDOOR. Keep safe.

06.01.2022 Driving a vehicle is like operating a cruise missile. We want to keep collateral damage to ZERO. Maintaining safe travelling distances and lane position is paramount.

05.01.2022 When teaching your prodigy to drive never presume theyll react to situations the same as you will. Think of ways to slowly expose your student to different traffic situations and explain the risks associated prior to approach.

02.01.2022 Imagine your loved one works on the road maintenance. Would you like people to slow down as they drive past them in case they slipped and fell into live traffic.? ALWAYS REDUCE SPEED ALONGSIDE ROADWORKERS WHETHER ITS SIGNPOSTED OR NOT. Its the right thing to do
