11.01.2022 How painful would this be! This is inside the mouth of an alpaca I saw last week. I was asked to look at it because it was really thin. The ulcer is on the right cheek and caused by the sharp point on the upper tooth. I was able to fix this problem and this alpaca will gain weight now it can eat pain free. 10.01.2022 Finger Update. Part of the nail has gone. Whilst it looks ugly it isn't painful anymore!

05.01.2022 Grass seeds can become embedded in the soft tissue in the mouths of alpacas. This is painful and will prevent an alpaca from eating. Here you can see where seeds have been removed and still more to get the tweezers onto. Once all the seeds are removed the lips will heal.
