06.01.2022 We are proud to say that we have made some very good sales of fleece in the past six months, with breeders being paid good money for their time and investment. We have also received increasing interest from processors and are in need of more fleece to fill this interest. If you are holding back on joining AFNA, then now is the time to get involved, rather than having all that fleece sitting in the shed risking contamination and becoming mulch. We are particularly after clean BLACK and dark coloured fleeces for an international buyer looking to produce a 'clean and green', natural coloured range of products. We need fleece in the finer range for this order - 18 to 20 micron - but have a market for other microns (and colours!) as well. Don't hold back - the market wants your fleece!

05.01.2022 October 2017 - Update Demand for fibre has been steadily increasing, from customers both here in Australia and from overseas. Our problem at the moment is getting breeders to pull their fleece out of the sheds and get it to us for skirting, testing and classing. It seems that some breeders believe that fleece in the shed is worth more than fleece that is sold to eager buyers! Buyers are literally screaming out for fleece to process and make into product, but we cannot supply ...them with as much as they are asking for. This is a real shame as we know that there is fleece sitting in sheds, risking contamination and degradation, for the want of a bit of action by the growers. Currently we have standing orders for large quantities of huacaya in the 18 to 26 micron ranges, in all colours. If you are holding onto fleece in this range, then please contact us to arrange a time to help you make some good money from it. After all, it is actually worth more when you sell it, than having it sitting in the shed. See more
