22.01.2022 Alpha Omega Town Planning is proud to announce that the TAFE Digital Headquarters for NSW has now been officially opened. We were involved in the early stages of this project helping to determine the approval pathway and providing written planning advice to the agencies responsible for the development. 16.01.2022 Here are what some recent Development Applications lodged with Armidale Dumaresq or Guyra Shire Councils have been for. These are the sort of planning changes that we can assist you with. Construction of a dual occupancy - 2 dwellings; Construction of a temporary dwelling; Commercial building - install a drive-through ATM; Conversion of part of office building to a dwelling;... Boundary adjustment; New dwellings with land constraints - e.g. bushfire, flooding, heritage; Subdivision of land; Construction / alteration to commercial and industrial buildings. 12.01.2022 It is certainly true that there are many building and/or development projects that need a formal Development Application and then (hopefully!) planning permission. You will probably be relieved to know that there are many projects you can undertake that do not need permission as they are deemed to be 'exempt development' (i.e. exempt from needing formal planning permission). Examples of these include: carports, cubby houses, driveways, roof mounted evaporative cooling units... and fences. There are many more. However, there are limits on how big something can be, and usually if you are in a heritage zone, or your house is heritage listed, or you are on a flood prone lot then you cannot undertake exempt development.
