25.01.2022 Yesterday Stacey and I had a fight. We’re currently doing a little Reno project, and we approach tasks like this very differently. Yesterday, this differences caused conflict and resulted in us speaking to each other angrily. As we drove to bunnings, I felt is sinking into that familiar resentment and frosty silence. Something needed to be done. I thought carefully, then took a deep breath and opened with Stace, I know I need to apologise, but I don’t know what for. Can yo...u please explain what you’re most annoyed with me about to her credit Stacey did not bring out a laundry list, but pin pointed what she was frustrated about. This helped me understand my irresponsiblity which I needed to own, but it also opened a conversation about how we approach things differently, and how we can help each other in light of that. Friends, THIS is happily ever after. Romance looks really nice, but at the end of the day a healthy marriage looks like one that involves having daily conversations like this one, on the way to bunnings, with the kids in the back. SO grateful for my beautiful wife. 17.01.2022 Crazy story - several years ago I was working with a student group at Newcastle Uni, and so was connecting with students all the time. Fairly regularly people would ask me about student accommodation in Newcastle, and occasionally landlords would ask if I knew any students who were looking for accommodation. To solve this problem I created a Facebook group and called it Newcastle Christian flatmates.
