18.01.2022 Covid19 Update! Dear Patients, guardians and carers , as most of you already know, covid 19 has been confirmed in Kalgoorlie, in a bid to control the spread,protecting the health of our well appreciated patients and staff, Alphamedical Centre Kalgoorlie is now transitioning to telehealth, which began last week. Patients who meet the Medicare criteria for telehealth would be bulk billed and others who do not, would be privately billed over the phone.... If you have been overseas, in contact with a covid 19 patient or you suspect you have covid19, your consult would have to be via telehealth. If you have any flu like symptomps, fever or general unwellness, you must call medical center, to let us decide whether you would be seen face to face or via telehealth. As we gradually close the doors to face- to- face consults, we appreciate some patients would still need to be seen and examined physically. This would be determined on case by case basis. We will keep posted as events unfold. Will be commencing our immunization clinic for flu and pneumonia vaccine for over 65s soon. It is important at this unprecedented times to follow the advice of the local public health on social distancing, hand hygiene and self isolation ( where indicated). More importantly, we should not be given to panic, undue fear and anxiety. And finally, we should let reason triumph over misconceptions and false information. Thank you.

The management of Alphamedical Center Kalgoorlie is quite aware that telehealth has its shortcomings and some patients will still need to be seen and examined physically. In this light, we are still seeing a selected group of patients physically and this determined on case by case basis. Pre-employment medical, drivers medical, gastric band Adjustments and surgical excision of skin cancer consults are still done face to face with the strict and necessary precautions. We have commenced the annual influenza vaccination and pneumococcal vaccination for 65 years old and over.We will be commencing influenza vaccination for the younger age groups sometime next week and we will keep you posted when available. ALL FACE TO FACE CONSULTS MUST FIRST BE CONFIRMED VIA PHONE BEFORE TIME OF CONSULT . If you have fever, cough, runny nose, recent international travel/contacts or you feel you have Covid 19 or may have had contact with someone who has or suspected to have or made contact with a Covid 19 patient, your consult MUST be via telehealth. These are challenging, difficult and unprecedented times in history. Social Distancing measures, hand hygiene, face mask (where necessary) are however still in place and we are still offering telehealth services- phone and video. If you are have runny nose, cough, fever, shortness of breath, contact with a covid 19 patient or have had a recent international travel, you will have to ring the receptionist before your appointment. We are in the flu season and it advisable to get immunized against influenza, if not done so already. We have the flu vaccines for all ages and feel free to book in to get your shots with us if so desired. The pandemic has changed things alot and thankfully, things are getting back to normal.
