25.01.2022 UPDATE: The Great Alpine Road between Harrietville and Hotham Village is currently closed due to the recent heavy snowfalls causing the danger of trees falling.... We know this is frustrating, but traveller safety is everyone's prioirity. The Omeo approach is open, and the service station has diesel available. Next update will be at 11:30am. We apologise for any inconvenience.

We apologise for any inconvenience. Please note the Omeo approach is still open, and if you are heading up from Melbourne this afternoon you might want to consider that route. Next update will be at 1:30pm this afternoon (Friday 9 August). 21.01.2022 UPDATE: Unfortunately the Great Alpine Road will remain closed tonight between Harrietville and Hotham Heights. Vehicles currently stuck on the road will be con...voyed into the village shortly. Travellers who are on their way should seek accommodation for the night or take the Omeo approach if possible. Weather is not expected to abate till later tonight. The Omeo fuel station will remain open until 8pm tonight and the Mt Hotham Resort Management Board office will stay open until 6pm. Thank you for your patience. The next update will be tomorrow morning.

20.01.2022 *GREAT NEWS SNOW FANS* - Harrietville appoach OPEN!! The Great Alpine Road is OPEN at 7am from the Harrietville approach fitting chains to all vehicles. There's another 10cm of fresh snow with the storm total near 75cm! Enjoy the weekend powderhounds!! :)

10.01.2022 UPDATE: Road is not yet open, but vehicles currently on the road have started moving. Next update: 4:15pm or sooner if we have positive news, as we appreciate y...ou are all trying to get somewhere. Due to extreme weather, the Harrietville approach to Hotham has been temporarily closed in both directions. The Omeo approach remains open. Please obey all directions from Hotham staff, Vic Police, Vic Roads and all other agencies. Thank you for your patience.

08.01.2022 We are thankful that the weather for Friday evening in Hotham was not as bad as expected. While the resort experienced fire threat through the afternoon and ev...ening, the cool change that arrived also delivered a little rain. As result we have not experienced any damage to the resort infrastructure or community, both at Hotham and Dinner Plain. As the weekend commences we have cool temps and the clearest sky we have seen for a week or more giving us a reprieve. The threat is not over with fires burning close by and we will continue to work with the RMB, Fire and Emergency services and the local community to ensure the safety of our staff, community and the resort. Thank you for your kind thoughts and messages that continue to flow into the resort community.
