23.01.2022 As most of us know the current fire situation is not ideal for being out in the bush areas. We are holding on the final decision to cancel the 2020 event for another week, to see how current watch and act zone over Falls creek unfolds. Right now one of our back up courses is not impacted directly by the fire activity, however, the overall picture is not safe for event to proceed as a lot of fires are happening around Falls Creek area. ... We will get in touch with all registered teams at the end of the next week once the situation is 100% clear.

19.01.2022 Falls Creek is doing an amazing job trying to keep historical huts safe.

19.01.2022 Alpine Quest is in What’s on High Country this week. Just a bit more than a month to the race day and excitement is building up.

14.01.2022 The trailer is out for Eco-Challenge Fiji - and it looks exciting!

08.01.2022 How much fun is to ride on single tracks. What do you think?

07.01.2022 As most of you will be aware the bushfire situation in Australia is like nothing we have ever seen. NSW and Victoria’s forests are being devastated on many fronts and so many areas where we have explored in previous races have been decimated. It is heartbreaking! Parts of last year’s Alpine Quest course was impacted by fire in late November and knowing this summer could be bad, we prepared two expedition courses with the hope this would give us a backup position. Unfortunatel...y, over the past two weeks the Alpine region has come under significant attack and all areas around Falls Creek are not safe to enter. Parts of Victoria have been declared a state of disaster, which includes the Alpine Region. Some areas have been evacuated and are currently being impacted. Discussions with the local authorities last week indicated that the situation was going to get worse before it got better. Given the event is nearly two weeks away it appears that even if the situation improves the relief efforts are going to have to be like nothing we have seen in this country. There are multiple active bushfires in the Falls Creek area that are not yet under control. Recent light rain has reduced the spread of these fires, however, forecast higher temperatures by the end of the week are expected to increase the fire activity again. Falls Creek is still closed for the public, Alpine National park is closed till the further notice and no one is able to give us any dates at the moment. We have decided that unfortunately Alpine Quest must be canceled for 2020. The safety of you all is the priority and we cannot see that there is any way this can be managed given the current situation. We understand that adventure racing takes a large financial and time investment both with training for and attending the races themselves. We all know this only too well having spent years racing but also pouring our heart and soul into creating amazing experiences for our wonderful community. On the final note, affected communities need our support; once safe consider taking an opportunity to visit the areas and spend your holidays there.
