18.01.2022 There are some interesting statistics from Austria regarding alpine related deaths. 283 people died on the mountains in Austria in 2017. 7807 people were injured 86% of all fatalities are male 26 people died in avalanches... Cardiac arrest makes up 27% of all deaths Although these are some high numbers, they seem to be close to the ten years average.

04.01.2022 Last weekend a handful of Alpine SAR members attended the SSI training of Bush Search and Rescue Victoria. It was a great opportunity to meet Jimmy and Matt from Police SAR, other BSAR members and of course catch up with a lot of dedicated volunteers. Thanks BSAR training organisers for putting up this valuable event and of course a big THANK YOU to Paul and Trevor from the local CFA Brigade who were very welcoming and let us use their station as a base
