22.01.2022 Winter germination of White soul, one of the varieties I plan to save seed from. Requires a bit of effort to get seedlings started in these frosty conditions. 04.01.2022 Working on a new alpine strawberry bed: chisel ploughed removing black currants (remaining jostaberry is in the foreground, gee they're tough!!); next weeded by hand; then shovelled a ute-load of humus as a topdressing. Waiting for the wind to drop for the next step - been waiting for days!

01.01.2022 My first attempt at seed saving ... pineapple crush plant in a butterfly cage. It's a small, young plant, once it grows and gets established in it's new pot, I'll hand-pollinate flowers. Can't wait!
