23.01.2022 Time to check your driveway to make sure our trucks can fit if required

21.01.2022 This answers an often asked question

20.01.2022 Please be aware that permits remain suspended

14.01.2022 Wow people have shown us so much support especially over the past few months that we feel that we need to acknowledge it and to say thank you . We have received food donations from Leanne Harris, Merelyn and Saint Johns Woodlawn students, Mark and Sharon Foran. Also a cash donation from Maria and John Heaton. I apologize for our slow acknowledgement of your generosity but can assure you that it was and still is very much appreciated. Hopefully I have not missed acknowledgi...ng anyone. Now that the local fires have slowed down it is time for some of us to travel south to help out in the south of the state. Stay safe and keep an eye out for any fires - the fire risk is still very high. See more

13.01.2022 Thank you for all of your ongoing support throughout this year. Its been a trying time but hopefully we can now have some time to enjoy the Christmas break. The brigade wishes all of you a Merry Christmas and a Happy and safe New Year

12.01.2022 Total Fire Ban declared for Saturday 16th November

12.01.2022 With the increasing fire danger forecast for tomorrow a Total Fire Ban has been declared for tomorrow Friday 15th November. Everyone please take care and report any unattended fires. The last thing we need at the moment is another fire!

11.01.2022 Some of our members on their way down south to help out with the firefighting effort

08.01.2022 Due to the forecast weather a Total Fire Ban has been declared for the next 4 days. Please report any fires that do not have a fire truck in attendance

07.01.2022 The photo shows a 38 mm Storz fitting on a Water Tank. This fitting allows our fire truck to be easily and quickly connected to your tank for extra water in case of a fire. This can mean the difference between saving or loosing your home. If you live where there are no reticulated water and hydrants please ensure that you fit one of these fittings to your water tank.

07.01.2022 Quite often these days in times of drought and bush fires you hear stories of generosity. This one is no exception. The owner of ‘The Crossing’ Cafe in the main street of Alstonville, Darren Minnikin decided back in October whilst the bush fires were raging the Tenterfield Region, he would place a simple jar on the counter of his shop with... a hand written note which simply says, All our tips going to the RFS. That jar to date has raised over $450.00 dollars for the Alstonville Rural Fire Brigade who are continually being deployed to the fires on the North Coast. All the members of the Brigade are volunteers and give up their time to assist those who require help saving their home and resources as well as the precious bushland on the far North Coast of New South Wales. This story is a thankyou from the members of the Alstonville/Wollongbar Rural Fire Brigade to Darren and all those coffee loving people who have donated a little something to unsure the ongoing costs of the brigade are met. The brigade operates solely on donations and fund raising from the community through raffles, Bunnings BBQs, when the members assist the community in the Alstonville area. Everyone’s help is very much appreciated. See more

07.01.2022 With all of the news reports and sad stories about the fires I thought it would be nice to share a good news story. Recently I was contacted by a lady (Jan) about making a donation to our brigade. Apparently her family (grandchildren) came up with the idea that instead of the family buying each other Christmas presents this year they would donate the money to the local RFS brigade. What a generous thing for them to do. It makes you feel good about things when you come in contact with people like this, no wonder Janet and Kevin are so proud of their family. Yesterday our brigade treasurer Ray and myself had the privilege of meeting with the family, Toni, Andrew, Lucy, Lochie and Noah; Christie, Glenn, Jarrod and Bree; Janet and Kevin to receive their generous gift. And people ask why we do what we do!

06.01.2022 Just a quick heads up. This afternoon the brigade will be conducting a hazard reduction burn near Waratah Place, just south of the Bruxner Highway. You may see smoke in the area or even a glow as dark falls.

02.01.2022 Wow isn’t the year going by fast, fire season has arrived so Permits are now required if you wish to burn. Please phone the Fire Permit line on 02 6671 5500 to arrange for an inspection and permit.
