13.01.2022 SEMI-FINALS UPDATE Well done AHC B1 women, we have to do it the hard way this year but you did yourselves proud in an epic battle with Ballina on Friday night- 0-0 after three lots of extra time and drop-offs,... so Ballina, as minor premiers, go through to the Grand final in two weeks time and AHC meet Northern Star in the preliminary final this coming Friday. Our B2 women fought hard and played well but Summerlanders were the stronger team in the minor semi, sadly this m...eans the B2 season is over. In the junior minor semi-finals: - U11s had a draw with a very fine Easts team after extra time, and now progress to the preliminary final due to being on higher points at the end of the rounds, great effort -U13s put up a very creditable tussle against a stronger Coraki, and -U 15s put in a huge effort to defeat Coraki 3-1 and earn their place in the preliinary final next week- congratulations. Thank you everyone for doing your best, playing in good spirits and representing the club well.
13.01.2022 THANKS to our sponsors and GOODLUCK to our teams! With one week of the regular season rounds to go we thought it would be great to check-in and thank those sponsors who have continued to support us during this short but fun season. This has been a tough year financially for the club and their continued support is much appreciated, so thank you Domino's Alstonville, Alstonville Plaza Meats and Your Computer Wizard and please everyone support those who support us. Please a...lso check out those businesses and people who kindly donated prizes for our Monster Raffle to be drawn on 19th September (see attached photo for full details). Coming in to the last round all of our teams can be proud of their efforts this season. Everyone has had lots of fun and all our teams look well placed to qualify to play in the finals series and earn themselves an extra game or two to extend their playing fun. Our Under 11s are sitting in equal 2nd place, our Under 13s are sitting in clear 3rd and our Under 15s are equal 3rd so it should be an interesting finals series for our junior teams. In the senior ranks our men have played competitively all season in the B-C men's competition and have earned themselves a spot in the final- well done lads! Our B1 women are sitting in 2nd place, just two points behind Ballina who they play this week (always an exciting game) and well clear of 3rd and 4th. Our B2 women have had some very competitive games and although sitting in 4th they'll have their opposition worried when the semi's come round. Good luck everyone and keep following the Covid Rules and enjoying this unusual season. Go the Mighty Red Soilers!

11.01.2022 MESSAGE from FNC HOCKEY regarding Grand Final Day this SATURDAY 26th September. The Executive being required to manage this day advise the following: 1. At anyone time only 500 people are allowed in the complex 2. The following quotas apply for Saturday from 11.00am:... Northern Star - 4 teams playing (35 per team) 140 at any one time Ballina - 4 teams playing (35 per team) 140 at anyone time East Lismore - 2 teams playing 70 (35 per team) at anyone time Rest of Hockey Community 150 at any one time with a maximum of 40 per non participating club (3) = 120 and 30 others which includes all volunteers and committee members Once a quota is reached, access will not be available to those wishing to enter and it will be up to the individual club to manage admissions Clubs need to be prepared for managing attendances Depending on time of day and numbers in the complex there may be some discretion with the assigned numbers per entity 3. There will be a security Person at the gate and one other walking in and around the complex; in particular monitoring the consumption of alcohol outside the complex and within 50 meters of the hockey complex perimeter fence 4. The NSW Police have been informed of the day and will be making periodical visits to the complex We are hoping the Hockey Community understand the limitations of the time and in particular this day. Provided all members are mindful of the concern, considerate of others and act responsibly we should have a great day without incident.

10.01.2022 Well done to all our teams! Semi-finals start this weekend for all competitive grades except our B men, who's finals start next week after a bye this weekend. B1 women came second and have a Major semi-final against Ballina on Friday night. B2 women came 4th and play their minor semi against Summerlanders also on Friday.... Our juniors have also had a great season: Under 11s and 13s came in 3rd place and 15s equal 3rd and all play in minor semi's in Ballina on Saturday morning. Under 9s and Minkeys continue for two more weeks of fun and participation, finishing up on Saturday 19th September. The season has been short, but excellent progress has been made by both returning and beginner players. Skillful hockey has been played with lots of very competitive games in all grades and age groups and most importantly we have been able to run around in the fresh air and have a lot of fun and exercise- something that we know cannot be taken for granted! So GOOD LUCK to all teams- do your best, have fun and hopefully get a win and earn yourselves another week of hockey!
08.01.2022 Still time to purchase a ticket in our 2020 Monster raffle. Just get in contact with club President Debbie Bruggy McClelland if you would like to buy a ticket to support our club.

They finished it off during the second lot of drop-offs this week to go 2-1 up against Northern Star who battled hard to the end. Great team effort all round girls. Another week of hockey for you!!
04.01.2022 To support continued coaching development in each region, Hockey NSW is providing an opportunity for developing coaches to be involved in COD. It’s a great way ...to build your skills as a coach and a way to share your knowledge back to your local Club or Assocation. You can commit to as little or as much of the program as you like. All you need is a valid WWC and interest in upskilling yourself and in turn upskilling the players within the program. Register as a COD coach for 2020/21 https://www.hockeynsw.com.au/surveys/1620/
04.01.2022 PRELIMINARY FINALS UPDATE No winners today but all our teams can hold their heads high! U11's went down 2-1 in a very close tussle with the Ballina Bull sharks that could have gone either way. Our U15s went down 8-1 to a very experienced and strong Ballina side, but played with skill and commitment to the end.... B grade men put up a great fight against Ballina and made them work very hard for their 4-1 victory. Well done to all players, you have represented us well on the field this season. Enjoy the off-season and looking forward to seeing you all back on the pitch in 2021 (and bring a friend or two ). ...and don't forget to stay tuned for news on the B1 women's grand-final -next Friday 25th September- good luck to our last team standing!

There have been allotments allocated for each club based on teams playing etc.... If you are wanting to see some great hockey. Why not come Friday night and support our last team standing. 01.01.2022 The B1 team would like to thank our awesome coach Myles who believed in us from the beginning, nurtured us with his tough love and got us over the line, hope his ticker’s ok after 3 weeks of drop offs. And look at all those juniors who played tonight and benefited from his experience- the future is bright!
