10.01.2022 ELFQUEST Elfquest is a comic book property created by Wendy and Richard Pini in 1978. It is a fantasy story about a community of elves and other fictional species who struggle to survive and coexist on a primitive Earth-like planet with two moons. Elfquest was one of the first comic book series to have a planned conclusion. Over the years Elfquest has been self-published by the Pinis through their own company Warp Graphics, then Marvel Comics, then the Pinis again, more rec...ently DC Comics and then Dark Horse Comics. WaRP Graphics is an alternative comics publisher best known for creating and being the original publisher of the Elfquest comic book series. It was created and incorporated in 1977 by Wendy and Richard Pini. The company title is an acronym formed from the founding couple's name: Wendy and Richard Pini. In addition to Elfquest, Warp also published several other comic book series, including MythAdventures and related titles by Robert Asprin, and Thunder Bunny, created by Martin Greim. We've just added the original Elfquest series to our stock. They are being uploaded to http://alternateworlds.com this week and are available for mail order or contactless pickup.

02.01.2022 Time for another MAD MONDAY kiddos! Here be another lot of recent back issue additions, this time with MAD CLASSICS and MAD KIDS. MAD CLASSICS was at the time referred to as a brand new look at the same old junk! The very best of MAD's worst stuff from past issues takes aim at Harry Potter, Britney Spears, The Honeymooners, and more! Plus, all-new War of the Worlds outtakes, and two rare Spy vs. Spy adventures! Meanwhile, Between 2005 and February 17, 2009, MAD published 14 i...ssues of Mad Kids, a spinoff publication aimed at a younger demographic. Reminiscent of Nickelodeon's newsstand titles, it emphasized current kids' entertainment (i.e. Yu-Gi-Oh!, Naruto, High School Musical), albeit with an impudent voice. Much of the content of Mad Kids had originally appeared in the parent publication; reprinted material was chosen and edited to reflect grade-schoolers' interests. But the quarterly magazine also included newly commissioned articles and cartoons, as well as puzzles, bonus inserts, a calendar, and the other activity-related content that is common to kids' magazines.
