18.01.2022 Have a dog? That's great...they are fantastic company. But please do your research before you give them flea/tick protection...Nexgard and Nexgard Spectra have got serious side effects and is giving dogs seizures and then killing them. 16.01.2022 Clinically diagnosed anxiety is not just being a bit worried, you can't just "chill out a bit" or "get over it". It eats into your well being, your confidence, your health and your life and it is 24/7. When someone cancels, or ducks out, or makes a pathetic excuse please understand that it isn't personal, it isn't laziness, it isn't being rude. It's because they can't physically do it. When someone needs supporting/encouraging/ hand holding it isn't pathetic, it isn't attenti...on seeking, it isn't childish - it's because they are desperate to beat it but can't do it alone. Anxiety sucks, being isolated and believing your friends don't care sucks even more. How many of you have had a night out planned, or arranged coffee or a beer with friends and suddenly the 4 walls you inhabit seem the only safe haven because it's the only place you don't have to pretend you are ok, so you cancel. Or when you are invited out you tell them how terribly sorry you are but you're already booked up that weekend, when you are actually just really busy holding it together in your safe box. And so the first problem starts, all by itself. People stop asking you and the isolation that at first wasn't true becomes your only truth. Please don't give up on your friends. Ring them, go round, even when they don't want you to. And in work every passing comment is a negative, you constantly do more to get over the feeling you are not good enough. The exhaustion from not sleeping because you panic all night over what you cannot influence means you make mistakes, you live in a fog and it is a vicious circle. Share this on your wall to help raise awareness of and for those who have mental health difficulties. Mental Health Awareness

11.01.2022 Hi everyone Well, it's the new year and it's time for a new beginning - for myself and for The ARMS Centre. For myself, I have applied to University to complete a Bachelor of Psychology and I find out tomorrow if I have been accepted. Fingers crossed. In regards to the ARMS Centre, I am in the middle of re-branding just about everything, including this FB page and a new website with a few new features in it: membership, blog, divine intervention - stay tuned to keep posted. In the meantime, please hang in there and as soon as everything is completed and set up, I will definitely let you know. So I hope everyone had a great Christmas and here's to 2020 being prosperous and wonderful for everyone

10.01.2022 Now you know...

07.01.2022 Debriefing after an incident can be very useful as it allows people to understand what happened and explore emotions and concerns in a supportive environment. It can also help identify any changes that may be required.

05.01.2022 If you live in Perth, today and tomorrow it is recommended that you have 5 minutes in the sun every hour, given the temperatures. After 15 minutes of sun exposure in this heat, your dehydration levels increase by around 5%. If you drink alcohol, soft drinks and pretty much anything that isn't water, you double that percentage. I'm not saying not to get sun, I'm saying look after yourself and do the right thing by your body. We only have one body - skin cancer is predominant at this time of year. So drink plenty of water, avoid excess sun, cover up and seek shade, use sunscreen. Be wise people, and don't leave pets in the car...they will have heatstroke within 3 minutes and likely to die within 10 minutes, even with windows open.
