25.01.2022 Rocking on While the skiddy is away at the doctors, we put the finishing touches on a natural rock retaining wall we started a couple weeks back. Topped off with a set of stairs in the middle and level lower area ready for a fire pit and bit of landscaping to tie it all in

24.01.2022 Another tight one knocked out on the weekend The backyards on this duplex had no rear lane access; but its never a worry for our machine, fitting snugly under the carport and to the truck out the front. Almost 60T of dirt taken out, ready for the owner to lay roll out turf, garden beds and crusher dust to make this house a home

24.01.2022 Gday all, hope your Mondays are easing into it after the weekend rest Unfortunately late last week Andrew was admitted to hospital to get his appendix out and deal with a developing Pneumonia issue aswell. Due to this we wont be taking on anymore work for 2018.... If you have jobs booked with us dont stress, were working on a contingency plan to get everything done and well still be out and about; maybe just a bit slower than before once he finds his feet We thank you for your patience and look forward to Andrew getting on the mend and back out where he likes to be; singing full noise to the radio in the machine and moving dirt

24.01.2022 Were expanding And not just Andrews belly line, but our fleet too! Adding this beauty of a roller to our range of equipment. At only 1m wide it can fit in and around houses and tight areas; while still tackling the bigger jobs with ease

22.01.2022 Squeezed this little trench in between a shed and a pagola for some electrical conduit on the weekend. Tested the backhoe out digging around the main water feed to the building

21.01.2022 When you have deadlines to meet and gravity is on your side

21.01.2022 Enjoying the weather and keeping things rolling on the wetland this week

20.01.2022 And on Saturdays we build motorbike tracks

20.01.2022 I keep forgetting to take before photos and only take the after shot; so heres a nice after photo from yesterday. A backyard we redid with a driveway for rear access from the lane and prepped for lawn in the middle, crusher dust down the front drive and around the back to mesh it all in. Came up a treat

19.01.2022 Straight from the farm, straight to your door Early morning loading with composted pig manure from RiverHaven Farms in Taylorville, made with all the right stuff and perfect for topping up the garden beds or making new ones

18.01.2022 Full tilt Fridays prepping footpaths for spray seal in Berri with NK Irrigation

16.01.2022 Weve been a bit quite on social media lately, but behind the scenes weve been knocking out jobs and quoting all over the Riverland. Quotes and advice are completely free! And even if we cant do the job for some reason, we have plenty of specialised contacts or can at least point you in the right direction for what your job needs. Were here to put your ideas into motion

15.01.2022 A bloke I used to work with always told me there are never any good days in earthmoving; only days that go to plan and days that turn into an absolute nightmare . Today was almost one of those nightmare days But we got it sorted and back on the road, making hay while the sun shines Hope everyone enjoys their long weekend and travels safe, well be back into it on Tuesday and quickly booking up the first few months for 2019 so give Andrew a call to get your next job sorted

14.01.2022 Finally got this little beast home, time for a couple more tidy up jobs then out to work to see what it can do

13.01.2022 Flashback Friday To opening up an inlet to a floodplain for one of our awesome clients. The floodplain cycle is amazing; and by having dry cycles then wet cycles, it actually saves water that would just be sitting there evaporating if it were constantly open.... It also promotes the natural environment on the floodplain, going through the wetting and drying cycles brings out so many plants and animals; its amazing to watch over time.

13.01.2022 It's a bit different jumping into this old beast; no joysticks, different blade controls, no difflocks, no articulation, no radio, no air-con. Really there's not much to it at all; just an engine, some hydraulics and masterful engineering of the time. Which is what makes it so fun to use

12.01.2022 Trav finishing off a big yard cleanup in the skiddy Even better cause he tidied everything up with the machine, so I just lent on the shovel (like normal ) and watched him weave skidsteer magic

10.01.2022 Slashing Sunday Its always nice to have a good drop of rain, just never look forward to the weeds coming up after Luckily our little tractor makes short work of them, and its out and about this week keeping a couple of our clients blocks in shape.... Give us a call or message if you need any slashing taken care of; and as always, obligation free quotes anywhere in the Riverland and beyond

10.01.2022 Thinking outside the pond Had this little ripper of a job over the long weekend where our customer needed a pad made for a concrete slab beside their shed; only catch was the old fish pond in the way With a bit of gentle persuasion and a little bit of luck, we managed to salvage the pond and put it on a palate so it could be shifted to its new home nearby; then compact the hole and create the new pad to existing shed floor level.

10.01.2022 Sometimes the long weekends just arent long enough But spring has sprung and Christmas is almost knocking on our door; and weve found our calender slowly filling up for 2018. Weve still got a bit of free time though! So give Andrew a call if youve got a backyard that needs a makeover or even just a spring clean, we can take care of it all

09.01.2022 Happy New Year to all our suppliers, customers and everyone whos supported us in 2018 The holidays have been a good time to do some routine maintenance and shine the machines; and now Andrews all fixed up, the Altitude team is looking forward to a bigger and better 2019 Best wishes from Andrew, Trav and Teddy the at Altitude Earthworks. ... See you in the newy

08.01.2022 Our work doesnt just stop at earthworks We recently finished a driveway against a new retaining wall; the change left the old taps without any support and dangling in the air. We took some measurements, made up custom holders and installed them on the wall; making sure theyll stay sturdy for years to come

08.01.2022 Safety always comes first Sometimes organising the paperwork and safety stuff before a project seems like more of an effort than the job itself, but it makes it all worth it to see the finished product and know it was done as efficiently and safely as possible. (Pics to come for this little jobbie)... And if that means a few grey stress hairs on my head, Im alright with that

07.01.2022 Well I dont know what we would use it for...but we sure could use it!

06.01.2022 Happy Hump day - only 2 more left And speaking of 2s - 2 big things happened today! 1) Its Andrews 28th lap around the sun 2) he finally drove the skiddy so hard it broke ... So its in at the doctors getting a check up and it could be a little while before we get her back, but weve got a contingencie plan so the show will still go on. Only a small bump in a long road as I was told We appreciate the support from our customers and will be in touch with any jobs that might be affected. Cheers

06.01.2022 Its been a busy long weekend and its not over yet! Who can guess what town this sign is in where weve been working?

05.01.2022 Footpaths for years to come We recently had the opportunity to deliver a footpath project for the Berri Barmera Council, as part of the Drought Relief Community Funding Projects at the Riverland Special School. This involved creating a wheelchair accessible footpath so their students can safely enjoy the huge open area out the back. ... It was an absolute pleasure to work with the BBC and Riverland Special School to achieve this fantastic outcome; even more rewarding knowing the kids can get outdoors and into nature no matter the weather

05.01.2022 Well seeing as 2020 has been an absolute rollercoaster already, we hope everyone is staying safe and weve got a bit of news to share with our followers. Andrew has been working away at a remote mine site and due to the current COVID-19 restrictions in place; Altitude Earthworks will no longer be taking on private works for the forseable future. Any current quotes and current job arrangements will still be valid; we will also still be floating around taking care of pre arran...ged contracts around the region. We please ask that all future job enquiries be referred to Nick from NK Irrigation, who can be reached by clicking the tag in this post or searching on Facebook. Nick can take care of anything from retaining walls and landscaping to earthmoving and large scale irrigation. He comes highly recommended by us and his clients; and will not disappoint on your next project. Andrew would like to thank everyone for their support so far; and as mentioned we will still be around, just not as much as before. Cheers from the Altitude Earthworks team. NK Irrigation

05.01.2022 Excavation is our motivation Weve been lucky enough to make some awesome contacts since Altitude Earthworks has been running, and while we dont own a digger (yet); were able to borrow or hire a few various machines with pretty short notice. This time weve got the 5T Yanmar out for a retaining wall dig out and some small tidy up works the skidsteer cant quite reach ... So next time you need some serious digging done, dont be afraid to give us a call!

05.01.2022 Did you know That not only do we supply and spread all general quarry materials like crusher dust, road base and aggregates; but we can cart anything that will go in the truck! Some photos of recent loads including carting clay from CJs Backhoe in Barmera and some beautiful composted cow manure from Murch Transport in Renmark. ... Whether youve got piles of material you need moved or just looking for a load of manure for your garden, weve got you covered

04.01.2022 Perfect fitment Our skidsteer is 2.2m tall at the lights, and only 1.5m wide; so we can fit into most garages and backyards with ease!

03.01.2022 What a little RIPPA! Another little useful tool for the skiddy - a set of rippers to tear up ground thats too hard or rocky to dig with the machine. A few passes with these beauties and its good to be loaded up and carted away Made by our mates at Riv Fab - Riverland Fabrications, so we put them to use straight away on a pad for their new workshop extension and a bit of driveway work out the front

03.01.2022 Using our Topcon laser receiver to check grade on the go Usually we use this on the skidsteer for leveling pads or cutting to grade, but this job was the perfect opportunity to try something different. Having the receiver on the excavator boom means we can dig down to the exact depth without stopping the machine; saving heaps of hand work and time! ... Give us a call today for all your concrete preparation needs

03.01.2022 Our good friends at RivFab are doing something awesome for the people affected by the Cuddlee Creek fires. Please share this message and get onto their page if you know anyone that needs a hand with anything welding or engineering related to get back on their feet. This is the time to band together and do what we do best, help each other out

03.01.2022 Well its that time of year again; the skiddy is back home for some TLC over Christmas and Boxing day and Teddy is keeping an eye on the works at home, just to make sure everything is up to his spec. Hope everyone has a safe and happy festive season; thanks for your support in 2019 and we look forward to a bigger and better 2020 Cheers from Andrew, Teddy and the team here at Altitude Earthworks

02.01.2022 This is going to be the not too distant future of earthmoving, its happening already! GPS, machine guidence systems and autonomous vehicles are all progressing in leaps and bounds; so it only makes sense to put it all in a blender and mix them together Its a bit of a scary thought but I cant wait; have a look at the video and let us know what you think!... (Also happy hump day, only 2 more to go! ) https://youtu.be/YYj2JqL1dJM

01.01.2022 Still getting used to the colddddd winter mornings but at least the days are near perfect Recently finished up a shed pad in Loxton and it come up pretty smick, ready for the shed builders to come and do their thing.
