24.01.2022 Last night I had a heart to heart to chat with our local residents from Congolese community. We discussed the diverse needs of our communities. There were some very important points raised by the community leaders. Our municipality is a growing area with diverse community needs.... This specific group is not feeling that their needs have been addressed. We need to work towards more inclusiveness, engagement and accessibility and this is what I will advocate for. We have free meal boxes of the following dishes:- Napoli Sauce Mushroom and Spinach Soup Lamb Korma Beef Rendang Pick up from Taylor’s Hill before 7 pm tonight,pls pm for address. The food has been provided by DD’s Kitchen who have been supporting Community members from the aboriginal background. All 750 ml containers.First in First Serve. 17.01.2022 Family violence has been on a rise during this pandemic. I have worked with the victims hence know the struggle for the support. It is not only physical abuse; it can also be sexual, psychological, emotional, economic, spiritual or legal abuse, also its not limited to women infact it also affects children and men.... All forms of family violence are illegal and unacceptable. 16.01.2022 Today my little munchkin turns six. ISO birthday with my preppie. Aarna has been wishing for past 6 months that on her birthday coronavirus should go to another planet.... Well today morning I told her there are 0 deaths and that her wish is slowing coming true.. she was so happy. It’s important that we address this even more. I have been and will continue to advocate for more engaging mental health programs for our City of Melton residents.... 14.01.2022 Update on Council Elections:- Firstly thank you so much for all your support and faith in me. I got knocked out at number 4 with 1844 primary votes polling at 9....2% and didn’t make it to top 2 position for Watts Ward. I am thankful to all my supporters, well wishers and volunteers most of whom never ran a campaign in their lives but went all out to support me in this lockdown. I have a long list of thank you, to all those volunteers who endorsed my candidacy in their own language videos , thank you to all volunteers who distributed my HTV cards and letters. All local businesses who supported me and every friend who called on me and supported me and my spirits. Thank you so much couldn’t have done without your support. Most importantly thank you to all our residents from watts ward who voted for me It was a challenging and a learning experience, the outcome will not deter me from doing what I love doing that’s working with and for our local community. 13.01.2022 Finally, after a very long day I am excited to announce that I am officially a candidate for Watts Ward from Melton City Council for the upcoming council elections 2020. Watts ward has two seats and I am hoping that I can secure one position to be able to work with our local community. Watts ward includes :... Taylor’s Hill,Hillside ,Diggers Rest, Toolernvale, Bonniebrook, Grangefield and parts of Plumpton. This council election is unique as it will be 100% postal votes. All voters will start receiving their ballot papers in October 2020. 13.01.2022 My daughters first ever newspaper article,she is wearing a cute pink beanie. Hillside Sharks visited her childcare and taught them some moves on how to play football. Sports is important. It brings a sense of belonging, keeps mind and body healthy and keeps one active.... We need to continue working and bring in more structured program deliveries to our local schools and kindergartens to get more kids to participate in our local sports. 13.01.2022 I will work with our local businesses I have always been passionate about supporting local businesses by promoting them and assisting them in their journey. Due to Covid-19 all business have been impacted. Families have lost their livelihoods and it’s important to help them now even more.... I propose we assist the local food trucks in Watts Ward more with business opportunities by making the area a outdoor food dining hub. With summers around the corner this project will boost the businesses and give a space for families to enjoy in our local community. 04.01.2022 With reducing number of cases I am hoping to see us returning to new normal soon. Now that the childcare centres are open, I would like to give a shoutout to this beautiful centre in hillside, Hillside Cottage and Early Learning Centre. It’s a very cozy centre and my daughter enjoyed being there for a long period of time.... Another centre I would like to give a shoutout is Forever Friends in Sunbury. The owner is such a fantastic human being and can certainly assure you she and her team will look after your babies and children as their own. Let’s support our local businesses. Childcare centres have struggled in past few months just as many businesses and it would be great to support them to support our local employment. 03.01.2022 Taylor’s Hill Youth & Community Centre has been very integral part of my community work as most of our community events/workshops have been organised in this neighbourhood house. There have been challenges, however the most recent one has been the absence of street lights.... This neighbourhood house has a skate park and none of the street lights in the car park are currently working. The local food trucks have been asking for them to be fixed over 6 months as its impacting their business,as families don’t feel very safe in the nights to pick up food orders. A small tip please carry some wipes and sanitisers it can always come handy Parks are now open and with school holidays around the corner and the weather opening up its a perfect opportunity to step out and get some fresh air. ...
