03.01.2022 The first day of daycare was the hardest. This phrase was said to me again and again as I prepared to transition back to work after months of maternity leave. Not only was I nervous about returning to work, I was petrified to leave Gabriella at daycare. I dropped her off at daycare for day one. It was a disaster and not simple at all. There was tears and screams as I handed my heart over to a complete stranger. I drove back home to my office with empty arms and felt purpose...less. I missed her soft cheeks, her stretching moves, the sweet gurgles, and her big beautiful eyes looking up at me. For the first time in a long time, I didn’t need to be Mum. Then day two came around and I was more anxious then day one. To my surprise day two was a massive success. She was all smiles, had two one hour naps and ate all her food! Thank you to all the incredible women who called and checked up on me, have given me advise, I love you all! Let’s pray there is more days like day two then day one
