25.01.2022 Good morning! What a scary thought? Meeting the person I might have become if only I was braver, kinder to myself. If only I believed in myself more, forgave myself more and spoke my truth more readily. Became more joyful and grateful. Today I shall live like I am a powerful soul, a collection of experiences that will serve me not imprison me. Today I will not doubt my intention or potential. 25.01.2022 We are constantly digesting the life that is coming at us. We perceive and digest this through our senses and cognition. Inside of us is a world just waiting to be discovered. What we do with our perceptions, thoughts and sensations is up to us. Interoception is the inner sensation that let’s you know what is going on within your body. It provides information about what is going on inside of you. Thus we need to become more aware of our inner sensing our interoception. 23.01.2022 When we are triggered by an event our brain does some really impressive processing. It happens so quickly that we are often unaware it is happening at all. Our senses, perception bias, beliefs, values, memories, experiences all take part in parcelling the event in to a bite size chunck. Then we bring in the big guns applying deletions, distortions and generalisations based on our experiences. Armed then with what we think happened we move into our physiology through behav...iour and emotion. How close to reality is our version at this point? How we think, behave and feel create the world we live in. How about next time you notice a trigger STOP create some SPACE by asking yourself what am I thinking feeling about this? Why? Is what I am thinking true? How can I change my reaction to this to create freedom in my life? 16.01.2022 First rule - Don't scare the colon out of yourself! How often do we dialogue within and believe everything we tell ourselves? Next time you are wrestling with a decision or an outcome listen to what and how you are speaking to yourself. Is what you are saying absolutely true? What tone are you taking with yourself? Would you speak to anyone else that way? We can often be down right cruel and hurtful to ourselves in moments of extreme stress. Bring awareness to your inside world. Speak to yourself like your opinion matters. Catch the sensations and emotions as they arise. Revisit your intention, soften your heart and remember there are no failures only feedback. Listen carefully does it speak to you like you are a child again? Let's face it, we all need a little straight talking every now and then. BUT is it talking straight? OR is it running worse case scenario on your behalf? Is it catastrophising? Is it backgrounding and minimising your... achievements and all your good bits? AND if so how would you know? You test and measure. Next time your thoughts run away with you ask yourself is what I am telling myself really true. Is it a fact? What other options are there? 09.01.2022 Did you know your brain can take out it's own trash, thank you very much. It is called the Glymphatic System. It covertly waits until the cover of darkness and steals its way through your brain's Cerebral Spinal Fluid (CSF). Clearing away metabolic waste, neural toxins and Beta-Amyloid (thought to be a major factor in Alzheimer's Disease) Utterly exciting! So when you are sleeping this magical cocktail of events takes place. "When you sink into a deep sleep, a cycle of ...activity starts behind your closed eyelids. First, a slow electrical wave pulses through the brain. A few seconds later, the amount of blood within the brain drops. Then a wave of cerebrospinal fluid reverses its usual direction of flow and moves upward through large cavities in the lower and central portions of the brain. The pattern repeats about three times a minute for the duration of non-REM sleep, the typically dreamless phases when your eyes remain still. In a recent study, researchers observed the rhythmic sequence uniting these three phenomena in humans for the first time and found the causal links between them.
