15.01.2022 Did you miss the Old Burial Ground Exhibition at the State Library, here is a photo montage of the Fosters photos documenting the site before the removal of the graves and the building of Central Railway Station in its place.

14.01.2022 I found this woman's stories demystifying the process of dying very interesting, you may too.

12.01.2022 Cemeteries not only provide a peaceful place to contemplate and commemorate the dead. They are also great places for studying geology

11.01.2022 Read the post dated 3 December 2020, as due to popular demand, this is the follow up to that post.

11.01.2022 The battle of Lone Pine has entered legend amongst the Battles endured by Australian Armed Forces. The battle itself was fought on a Plateau above ANZAC Cove, Gallipoli. The Turks had denuded the Plateau of the native vegetation to use as trench covers and to get a clear shot of any invading force fool enough to run up the hill. All but one of the trees was left in the middle of the plateau, the strategy being any soldier who had run up the hill might make a run to the tree...Continue reading

09.01.2022 I have been watching this woman's videos for years, She usually is very informative and puts a light hearted spin on the death industry, but todays video sheds a light on the pandemic as it is playing out in L.A. currently. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QdpSgEQKVNE

09.01.2022 Prior this Covid 19 Pandemic not many had heard of the Spanish Flu Pandemic of 1919. Little Jack Dransfield was one of the local victims of that disease sweeping around the world. Now imagine this, you have spent the last 4 years over seas fighting for your country and you have arrived back within sight of the West coast of Australia, so close you can smell the gum trees, and your ship has to stand out from the shore for another 40 days quarantine. Kind of sounds familiar in ...these uncertain times of shut outs and proposed lock downs. Jack Dransfield's father was zealous patriot who recruited many young men into the armed services. He was the Principle of Ourimbah Public School and man about town with some social standing organising street parades and pagents. lucky for Jack he was under age during the war, but poor little Jack became an unofficial number of the war dead when in 1919, a returned soldier passed on to him the Spanish Flu. This is a link to more of the tale of Jack Dransfield. https://pointclarecemeteryhistorytours.com//jack-dransfi/

09.01.2022 On a dark and stormy night.... no actually its a rainy day so I thought I'd give you all this tale of woe... hit the link and wonder of the horror https://www.geriwalton.com/buried-alive-story-of-madame-b/

08.01.2022 On this site I get messages at all hours asking all sorts of death related questions, there any plots available?, how do I find a grave? How hot is a cremation? I have to be kind as I do not know what has spurred them to message the page. They might be on deaths door, they might be in one of the stages of grief or they might have just discovered a long lost relative on the family tree who happens to be at Point Clare Cemetery and in their excitement forgotten what hour they a...re posting a message . My Phone pings me notifications. So Monday night at 9 pm I get this message asking Is anyone available to chat? followed in quick succession chat please let's chat Stephen here who are you? I thought it a tad weird, but responded with Whats your questions Steve? Quickly followed by my name is Sarah (alarm bells already triggered, Sarah is not my name) are you from point clare, hi sarah are you friendly I would like to meet people from point clare or close by Sarah, do you mind telling me a little about yourself I responded with a Yes I mind. Well can you believe it, I am now being harassed by an 80 year old bloke (looks like) who thinks he might get lucky. Who followed up with another 27 messages (27 late night phone pings later). Including a selfie. He said he would contact me again the next day but didn’t (phew). He say he has recently joined the local Probus and Rotary Clubs But tonight he has kicked off again. Want to see the rest of this silly old fools messages (including selfie) hit the Hahaha symbol (x 10) and I will post the lot. Like seriously, IT IS A CEMETERY PAGE STEVE. See more

04.01.2022 Captured an interesting effect today while at the cemetery

02.01.2022 It has taken 5 years of hassling to get this fixed but it has finally happened, so good on Central Coast Council. It was carved by Randell William Dumbrell a monumental mason working out of Gosford. He is buried at Point Clare Cemetery and you can see many examples of his handy work at the cemetery. Here is a link for more info re Dumbrell and his life. https://pointclarecemeteryhistorytours.com/?s=dumbrell

02.01.2022 This is an interesting (and new) vlog focusing on the Chicago murder of the 8 nurses back in 1966. It's a new channel recently launched by a Chicagoan focusing on local true crime. He tours the cemeteries/resting places of a few of the victims of this crime, as well as visiting the scene of the crime, which is for the most part, unchanged since the murders occurred. It's about 54 minutes in length. https://www.youtube.com/watch
