James discovered a passion for working with individuals to improve their well-being through his Bachelor of Physiotherapy and Bachelor of Psychological Science. Bringing 4.5 years experience in psycho-social rehabilitation to Alwyndor, as well as manual therapy, hydrotherapy, exercise classes and in-home physiotherapy. James focuses on individual needs and understands each person’s situation is unique.... When James is not at work he enjoys hiking, downhill mountain biking, playing squash, gardening, and is an avid world traveller, always keen to meet new people and enjoying their customs and food! 12.01.2022 Dear Alwyndor Community - I am sure you will all now be aware of the announcements by the State Government. This means: Residential... Alwyndor, and all residential care homes will be in mandatory lockdown for the next six days with a possible extension to this time. We understand that this can be an difficult time for residents so our lifestyle team have swung into action to fill our residents calendars with social activities throughout the day to keep everyone engaged and active. Along with activities, we are once again offering our always popular Skype sessions for all residents and their loved ones. These 15 minute sessions will be available on Friday, Monday and Tuesday from 9.30am to 4.30pm. We will then re-assess in line with current restrictions. Please contact 8177 3200 or [email protected] from 9.00am tomorrow (Thursday 19 November 2020) to book your time to have a chat! Please note that due to demand only one session per resident per day will be available. As always, should next of kin visits be essential, please be assured that we will be in touch and will enable loved ones to visit. Home Support All Home Support Services will remain in place. Our staff have had stringent training in infection control, COVID safe practices and the use of personal protective equipment. If you opt to have your services put on hold, we will stay in contact with you throughout this time to ensure your wellbeing and to check if you need anything at all. If you are still receiving our home care services have any additional needs or concerns or if your supplies are running low, please reach out to us. We are here to assist you. Therapy Services Therapy Services will continue for essential one on one services, this includes physiotherapy, podiatry and occupational therapy. Please let us know your needs through our Customer Care team. Day Respite Day respite will be suspended and we look forward to welcoming you back once this lockdown period has passed. Activity and Exercise packs Our Home Exercise Packs and Activity Packs have proved to be very popular in the past and are still available for our Therapy and Home Support Clients should this lockdown extend past the current six days. We understand that prolonged isolation can be quite challenging so it is a perfect time to keep active with one of our Skype activity sessions so that when our classes start again you have maintained your level of fitness, as well as keeping busy with our Activity Packs. Please contact us via your coordinator or through the Customer Care team so that we can send one out to you. As always, the health and welfare of our clients and residents is our top priority and we will continue providing care and support with calm and positive approaches and we will be in otuch again when we have further information. 10.01.2022 Dear all - well it has been quite a week we have all just been through! Thank you for your flexibility and support during the ongoing uncertainty that has been 2020. I’m pleased to let you know that we can now wind back some of the restrictions which we were required to impose last week. This means: Residential... We are back to visiting times of Monday to Friday 9.30am - 6.00pm, Saturday 9.30am - 3.30pm with reception open throughout this time. Visits continue to be restricted to up to 2 visitors at the same time per resident per day. Visits can be held in resident’s rooms, Alwyndor Gardens, communal areas or Dorothy’s Café noting the need to comply with social distancing and restrictions in numbers consistent with the signage in each area. Access continues to be through the main entrance on Dunrobin Road with the same condition as before ie flu vaccination, health and travel checks etc. Face masks are to be worn by all visitors (under 5 years old exempt) as well as staff ie carers, housekeeping, maintenance, corporate staff, customer etc. Home Support Home Support Services will continue as scheduled. Wellness classes and Therapy Services All classes and groups resume Monday 23 November and individual appointments continue. Day Respite Services will resume Tuesday 24 November. Café Will reopen Monday 23 November. Hairdressing services Will reopen Monday 23 November. While face masks outside of work are not mandated but strongly recommended please consider your wellbeing as well as the health of those around you when you consider this advice, especially on public transport and when shopping or in other public spaces. 06.01.2022 COVID-19 Update In light of current COVID-19 events, Alwyndor has reluctantly made the decision to close Residential to all visitors for 72 hours (unless end of life care is underway) from 11.59pm tonight, Monday 16 November 2020. Alwyndor will monitor the progress of the current COVID-19 issues closely and will review this decision again on Thursday afternoon. Further communication will be provided once this has been reviewed.... We believe this decision is the best course of action for us to be confident in our ongoing provision of care and to keep our residents, clients and staff safe and well. Thank you for your ongoing support throughout these tumultuous times and Customer Care can be contacted on 8177 3200 should you have any questions.
