22.01.2022 Parenting can at times be rough. But know that through these times you will learn something new. You will become more knowledgable and understanding and better able to support yourself (and other parents) the next time a rough patch hits. So dont be afraid of the rough patches as they do and will happen... face them, embrace them and learn from them
21.01.2022 My business Nest Nannies has been keeping a secret! Follow us to find out more! We are super excited about it @nestnannies
20.01.2022 Based on Red Nose guidelines, babies can safely be left to sleep with a comforter once 7 months plus. If you introduce one earlier just ensure you remove it from your baby once they are asleep. Always ensure the comforter you use is made of a breathable fabric (as babies can love snuggling into and covering the comforter over their faces ). And if your baby takes to a specific comforter try buying 2-3 spares so you can regularly wash or replace if one accidentally get lost!

20.01.2022 The five love languages Affirming words: words of affection and endearment, praise and encouragement. Acts of service: services that they see as valuable. Quality time: focussed, undivided attention, being together.... Gifts: giving and receiving of gifts. Physical touch: hugs, cuddles to sitting close together. Babies, toddlers and pre-schoolers need to be shown love in lots of different ways, as they don’t yet have a primary love language! Adults need/have different love languages too! #love #thefivelovelanguages #babylove

18.01.2022 A special shout out to the Australian Multiple Birth Association who are celebrating multiple birth awareness this week. Having cared for over 50 sets of twins (in their own home) I know how hard it can be to manage multiples, especially once out of hospital. AMBA is a valuable resource to families by providing them with much needed information and support. If you know anyone with or having multiples be sure to send them AMBA's way - www.amba.org.au- #multiplebirthawarenessweek
18.01.2022 Does you baby have colicky symptoms? Probiotics that contain L. reuteri may help ease your babies discomfort. Studies have demonstrated it can be beneficial in the prevention and/or treatment of many conditions including abdominal pain, allergy, feeding intolerance, and reflux. L. reuteri is naturally contained in human breast milk but appears to be declining in abundance by humans due to environmental factors. Supplementing could therefore be beneficial for some babies. - 2018 - Role of Lactobacillus reuteri in Human Health and Diseases. By: Qinghui Mu, Vincent J. Tavella and Xin M. 13.01.2022 Babies can often startle themselves awake when transferred into their cots. Holding them for a few minutes once transferred can help avoid this. Babies can startle as feel they are falling when placed into their cots (startle reflex), but can also startle just because they are falling asleep, known scientifically as sleep starts (or as I like to call them aftershocks). Holding babies through this transition to sleep can help them to feel safe, stay calm and continue to fall/stay asleep. You can also use this technique if your baby starts to wake mid nap to help them go back to sleep and sleep longer. #babysleeptips #sleepconsultant #sleepspecialist #settlingtips #startlereflex #sleepstarts

06.01.2022 The happiest children are ones surrounded with love, positivity, and encouragement, dont you think? One of my good thoughts is that a messy play room means children have been encouraged to play and explore? What challenging situations (like messy rooms) do you turn into good thoughts?
