08.01.2022 One of the craziest thing I’ve ever heard of is a yoga studio having a sign that says leave your ego at the door. Aside from that being literally impossible,... it is antithetical to yoga’s teachings. A key practice of yoga is knti - that is having glad acceptance for what is, seeing everything manifest as a part of the divine unfoldment. Yogaland has {finally} matured enough to accept and embrace all body types... {by the way this was ALWAYS part of traditional yoga}... now let’s mature to accept and invite all minds and egos. Ego is just part of the structure of the human experience. Can you leave your legs at the door? Can you leave your conditioning at the door? And should you? What if yoga students were told - all of you is welcome - please bring your feelings, your history, your fears, your desires, your ego, your pain. It’s all welcome here. As a teacher I invite you in with all of your stuff. The whole of you, just as you are right now. I hope that you learn to accept and {gasp} even love the whole of yourself... just as you are right now. When a yoga teacher invites you in fully just as you are, without any distaste for any part of you, you can learn to love yourself too. A yogic practice is to L O V E yourself the way a mother loves her child. Imagine what is possible... what happens to your ego, when it is bathed in glad acceptance and love? That’s yoga. All are welcome. All is welcome. If this r e s o n a t e s... please share. Let's put an end to rejection and self-hatred in the name of "yoga".
