23.01.2022 Back to where my OCR first started 2.5yrs ago with some #RawChallenge Doyalson fun. They always put on a great event and today's 6.2km, 55+obstacles (many new) with lots of mud was another success. As always, the highlight is catching up with all the crew and celebrating everyone's personal victories. I'm super happy with continuing my run of podium finishes at this course with a 5th placing behind all the cool chicks who are running very fast! Huge congrats to Gemma on once... again owning the course with her 6th straight win! And to Leila, Jade and Krysty on your placings and dominating those spots for the entire race. I was certainly made to work for it the first few kms but managed to chip away and make up a few spots on the obstacles. Congrats Brendan on the win for the guys with Mick and Scott close behind. Biggest thanks to my sponsor #BattleFitAustralia, my #BattleFitFam and Pap and Kane for the continuing support and providing the most amazing fitness community. Honoured to represent you .
22.01.2022 Spartan Burpees for a Cause Well done Spartan Community. $30,000 raised #BattleFitAustralia
22.01.2022 Well they did warn us about the hills! Spartan again delivered with the 21km Beast at Picton, the most brutal course I've done. 1200m of elevation, fantastically set out course, new obstacles and a twist to old. 9th place Elite hitting my goal of top 10 and, surprisingly, happy with my running considering niggling injuries limiting specific training for this longer distance. What I wasn't expecting was doing so many burpees!! 180!! Obstacles are usually my strength and where... I make the ground on the stronger runners, but a shocker on the balance beams, missed spear (standard ) and for the first time ever missing the rope climb which was cheekily placed over water/mud and at the 18.5km mark and with hundreds of sprint competitors already going through it was slippery as buggery. So 30 burpees straight into a 3min or so effort trying to budge a muddy jammed sandbag hoist (another 30 burpees) into the fortress and my grip and shoulders were thrashed so slipped off that too! Another 30 f#*king burpees!! Haha. All part of racing and if I didn't laugh at it all I would have cried. Congrats to Heather, Gemma and Leila on once again smashing it out there and Jade on her win in the Sprint! Best part of it is catching up with you all and witnessing the skills and speed these chicks have. Hugest thanks to my sponsor and mate Andrew Pap and all the crew from #BattleFitAustralia for the continued support. So privileged to represent such an epic community of awesome people. BattleFit certainly represented with Pap, Benny, Charlie, Matt and Brent ripping it up in Beast elite and Steph doing her first Spartan Sprint. Thanks Brent for being my travel and running buddy for the day. One trifecta done for ther year, bring on Bright in October
