24.01.2022 Are you in a position of influence? Are people watching what you do in order to decide what they do? This is a very serious position to be in and requires immense responsibility. Having influence is a part of being a leader that not many people talk about. Everything you do, say and even how you respond to situations will have a long lasting impact on so many people so be careful with the moves you make.

23.01.2022 In today's #BossLady careers column I discuss why it’s very important to talk about work with your children. They need to understand you are working to put food on the table it’s teaching them the value of money and how hard it is to earn that money. It’s especially important to talk about work if you enjoy your work. Often we don’t discuss these key things, but work is going to be a huge part of their life in the future.... https://lnkd.in/gX9Pfbkb

21.01.2022 Building relationships is an important component to business however you must be very careful with whom you choose to engage with. Just because someone talks a big game doesn’t mean they have any intentions of walking it. Key things to consider: Do their words match their actions?... Are they the same behind the scenes as they are with an audience? Are they emotional, restless or quick to anger? Stick to the quiet, wise, stable and credible person. They are few and far between.

17.01.2022 This morning on Sky News Australia with Jaynie Seal, I provided feedback on the Women’s Safety Summit, discussed small business survival and the importance of continual education. There needs to be ONE central source (national women’s website) where all resources, programs and organisations is kept and accessible to prevent double up and encourage collaboration. Enrolling into a course that will prepare you for future job/career opportunities via JobTrainer.... Large companies who are benefiting from the lockdown should contract to small businesses to help keep them afloat.

13.01.2022 Everyone has influence in one form or another, whether it is at work or within their community. We all therefore have a responsibility to use our influence to encourage and help others rather than to manipulate and take advantage. People are relying on you. They are making decisions based on what you say and what you do.

13.01.2022 Small Business Women Australia & Western Sydney Business Women founder Amanda Rose says NSW small businesses need long-term assistance in the process of reopening, not just the economic help which kept them above water. Help shouldn’t just be short-term, we need long-term help here, especially Western Sydney, Ms Rose told Sky News Australia. She said the 12 LGAs which were in a stricter lockdown cannot be expected to open up without difficulties.... You’ve steamrolled them, they’re flattened a lot of them have lost their livelihoods, their income’s been halved or slashed or they’re in debt. So, we need a better system to actually get them back on their feet. https://lnkd.in/gv_23H3f

Why spend three hours of your time going for a job and showing how good you are for a potential job you might not like? In my #BossLady column this week, I discuss why it’s important to do your research EARLY on in the job application process.
