24.01.2022 Today's tip! If you want to learn free photography tips, join my photography group! I was asked by a member, how to take close up photos of these wish things. So I thought I'd make it into a post. These were shot with my galaxy 9 smartphone. Actually I hate this phone, my smart phone isn't smart at all. It's a galaxy stupidphone lol. All photos are taken in regular photo mode, close to the flower. No editing apart from cropping.

21.01.2022 Back in July I posted about this but work got incredibly busy and I didn't have the chance to do more than a couple. However, life is a better pace now (no 12-14 hour days on the horizon), so I'll be picking this project back up again. I have an availability on Wed 22nd, starting at 9.00-10.00am depending on where you're living. I want to shoot in a minimalistic, style home this time - one that shows the juxtaposition between the mess of kids and babies and minimalistic desig...n. 20.01.2022 3 weeks back I posted asking if anyone in the Doreen area wanted their dog photographed for my Dogs of Oz Instagram (I'll send you the full res photo). Then one of my dogs became critically ill with kidney failure and I didn't get to follow it up all. Against the odds, our Maggie pulled through and I have hubby home next week. 17.01.2022 Last week I did a shoot for Sentience Personal Training. Snezana and her trainers, run virtual training sessions online, as well as traditional face to face training at her studio which is behind Rivers of Yarrambat. Sentience Personal Training focuses on a holistic view of health and functional fitness and progresses members comfortably at their pace. This was evident as the members were having a great time as I witnessed lots of smiles and fun. And I joined myself! I love... the flexibility of the virtual sessions, being able to do them from home or wherever I choose is such a drawcard. I have a little pet project that I've been doing on instagram where I take a couple of photos of all the different dogs that I come across. Since iso I haven't been able to do this and have been posting throwbacks from the shoots I've done to help animal rescue.... 09.01.2022 Something a little personal today. Meet Maggie - Mighty Maggie. She's one of our 6yo whippets. This dog is as tough as nails. At 4 months of age she had a massive seizure and was diagnosed with a liver shunt. Essentially her liver function is severely compromised and we were told to expect a 10-12month life expectancy - if she was really lucky, up to 2 years. She's on a special diet that includes only prescription kibble, eggs and cottage cheese (and liver supplements).... At 3 years of age she started having seizures, different than the liver (hepatic seizures) and was diagnosed after several of them, with epilepsy. Because of her impaired liver function, she went on anti seizure medication that we have to give 3x daily. Fingers crossed it's working well. At 4 years of age, we nearly lost her again. After 12 days of not eating and becoming gravely ill, she was diagnosed with Addisons disease. Her adrenal glands are almost non existent so she can't produce the steroids like adrenalin to deal with stress. This condition is managed with daily steriod tablets and monthly injections and lots and lots of blood tests to monitor her electrolyte function. But this feisty little girl does not seem to know that she has such serious systemic conditions. In fact she's the alpha dog of our mini pack (even though she's the smallest) and she's living a darn good life despite it all. This is why we call her Mighty Maggie. This photo is of her staring down my husband in the hope that he might give her a little bit of the cheese and kabana that he was enjoying!

03.01.2022 I've been shooting this family every couple of years, since David was just a few weeks old in fact. This year we did a lifestyle shoot, capturing them doing what they love together. So it was off to Were St cafe for brekky and a bit of a goof around at the local park afterwards. The connection this family has is beautiful, I love seeing teenage siblings that are really close like this. So very special. If you're thinking about doing a photoshoot, consider a lifestyle shoot. I wont just capture what your family looks like, I'll capture the essence of who you are and the connections you all have together. Capturing this time in your lives, rather than just what you look like.

02.01.2022 So, as I've been on a cruise for a couple of weeks so I'm going to post another throwback. Today is Annabelle and Anthony and also Natalie and Alan (mum and dad). I first met Natalie and Alan when they were expecting Annabelle. I then had the privelege of photographing both kids as newborns. They're both at school now, time doesn't stand still. I always love seeing all.your kids today, so feel free to post "now" pics in the comments.

01.01.2022 Over the next year or so, I'm going to be shooting Mum's doing what they really do. IRL. No filters, no clean ups, nothing fake. So today was Lori - she had her own 3 kids and her nephew. I shot this before she took them to tennis. I have to say that one of my favourite things is that her Xmas decorations are up still. I'm the worst for taking ours down so it made me feel good to know that I am not alone! This is the message I want to send with this....that parenthood is a little chaotic but really wonderful, even if sometimes it's really difficult finding that wonder. Before Lori knows it, her kids will be big and these images will be so precious as they've really captured her on a typical school holidays morning. Enjoy!
