05.01.2022 Council’s annual rates notices have been issued and you will notice them appearing in letterboxes this week. A few things to remember: - We’ve extended the peri...od that you have to pay the first instalment. This is now due by 31 October 2020. - There are a range of ways we’re here to support you if you’re having difficulty in paying your rates. This includes a rebate for eligible JobKeeper recipients and eligible pensioners. There are also payment plans that can be considered based on your individual circumstances. - The way that rates are calculated is dependent on the value of your property. Valuations reflect the value of a property on January 1 each year as determined by an independent valuer engaged by the State Government - Any changes in market conditions and property valuations since January 1, 2020, for example as a result of COVID-19, will be considered as part of the 2021/22 valuation process. - For some properties, there may be an increase in rates higher than 2% while others will see a decrease. For more information, or for answers to any question you may have visit https://www.wyndham.vic.gov.au//rates-valu/why-i-pay-rates.
