19.01.2022 It was so wonderful to see tourists starting to come back and visit our beautiful little town of Berry this weekend now that the immediate threat of the fires has subsided. Our hearts break for the many people who have lost loved ones, homes, businesses, animals and land. Fortunately Berry was spared from the flames however our entire town has most definitely felt the financial repercussions of the bushfires. The RFS and Media strongly urged all tourists to not visit the Sou...th Coast and those that did were told to leave. Highways and roads were closed. What is usually our regions busiest time of the year quickly became our record slowest and it has affected everyone ... Restaurants, Wineries, Airbnbs, Cafes, Service Stations, Motels, Hotels, Retail Stores and then the domino effect has unwillingly been passed onto the staff of all of these businesses. So please come and support all the towns of the Shoalhaven and South Coast, and remember just because they are not charred and bearing the physical signs from the bushfires does not mean they are not suffering. #visitshoalhaven #southcoastbound #emptyesky #spendwiththem #berrynsw #buyfromthebush
