24.01.2022 Beautiful Sabretooth the ringtail possum joey was such a fierce and frightened boy when he arrived in care. His tail tip was wounded and necrotic and fell off. Potentially a bite from another possum, we are not entirely sure. 05.01.2022 Freedom for this beautiful turtle. She came into care with a cracked shell after being hit by a car. An x-ray confirmed she’s carrying 12 eggs and needs to find a safe place to lay soon. Thankfully our amazing wildlife vet Tristan helped us with a treatment and release plan for her. She’s had her long acting antibiotics and pain relief as well as the wound treated. Once the bleeding stopped the edge of the shell wound was sealed closed. Shell fractures in turtles is extremel...y painful in the same way it would be if we broke a bone. We found a beautiful safe place with soft sand for her to lay her eggs and plenty of food in the water. Good luck mumma turtle!
