25.01.2022 REMINDER POST - Non-Uniform Day On Monday the primary students (K-6) have been rewarded with a Non-Uniform Day. This is because there has been so much positive behaviour by being: Safe, Respectful, Responsible or Learners. Great work everyone

22.01.2022 REMINDER Canteen Operations As we return to school for Term 3, we are pleased to announce that the Amaroo School Canteen will return to normal operation. This means it will be open both B1 and B2 for both primary and secondary students. Payment by EPTPOS is preferred for high school students. Lunch orders are still required to be ordered online via flexi schools with online payment.

22.01.2022 Thank you for your donations for last week's Indigenous Literacy Day Book Swap. We raised a total of $70 for the Indigenous Literacy Foundation to provide books to students in remote communities. A special thank you to our Preschool students who held their own book swap and raised $25.

21.01.2022 The end of winter is coming! This means it is time for hats to be back on heads at Amaroo School. For the next two weeks the PBL focus across primary is going to be We are sun safe. All students need to wear their hats at break times and for all outside activities.... Thank you for your support to ensure all students have a sun safe red hat to wear. (not a cap) You can purchase hats at the canteen and school uniform school for $8.

20.01.2022 Good morning everyone, the P&C meeting is on tonight. We would love for new people to head a long. It is a great way to learn new school happenings and feel more in the know. Best part is that the environment is friendly so if you do have anything on your mind you are in a safe place to bring it up. Plus everything is confidential.... There is a principal in the P& C meeting to. You can have a nice cuppa tea, and a biscuit to Meeting place: Front office Meeting time 7.00pm till 8pm.

15.01.2022 Father's Day Stall The Father's Day Stall is back for 2020, the children from years P 6! The stall will take place over three days.... Tuesday 1st September Preschool, Kindy, Year 1 Wednesday 2nd of September- Year 2, Year 3 and Year 4 Thursday 3rd of September- Preschool, Year 5, Year 6 and catch up for those away The children will be sent a reminder on See-Saw on the day from their class teacher. There are lots of items to choose from and the price will range from $1 to $5. Items will be posted throughout this week. 14.01.2022 ACT HEALTH UPDATED ADVICE TO SCHOOLS The ACT Government has updated a COVID-19 Public Health Direction this morning, which legally requires anyone who has been ...in affected locations identified by NSW Health to self-quarantine for 14 days from the date they were in the following locations, even if they do not have any symptoms. At this time, these locations are: 1. Batemans Bay Soldiers Club Monday 13 July, Wednesday 15 July to Friday 17 July 2. Crossroads Hotel in Casula between Friday 3 July to Friday 10 July 3. Planet Fitness in Casula between Saturday 4 July and Friday 10 July 4. Picton Hotel in Picton on Saturday 4 July, Sunday 5 July, Thursday 9 July or Friday 10 July If any of your family members have been in any of these locations on the dates specified above, you must get in touch with ACT Health through the COVID-19 Helpline on (02) 6207 7244 so you can be supported through quarantine. You and your child/children are also encouraged to get tested for COVID-19 even if you have no symptoms. Even if you return a negative result you must self-quarantine for 14 days from the date you were last at the location. 12.01.2022 Tomorrow is Indigenous Literacy Day. Students in Years P-6 will be watching a special interactive event at 2pm. During B2 students can take part in the Great Book Swap by bringing a gold coin donation and a book they no longer need. They can swap this book for a different book. This will happen in the library.

If you are interested in helping at the school you will be able to find what volunteer options are available. Some jobs are for a few hours once a year to more regular volunteer roles. We are a big school with a small volunteer group. We hope to make the team bigger and look forward to seeing new faces next year. 10.01.2022 Canteen News Welcome back to school everyone! Just a few notes from the Canteen: * Online orders ONLY via Flexischools each day... * No over the counter service is available to P-6 * Card only purchases for years 7-10 students during B1 only as a TRIAL. * No cash will be accepted. * FROZEN ITEMS - Parents please explain to your child that if they order frozen items they need to take their brown bag back to the canteen to collect the item. 09.01.2022 Good evening everyone. Please see news from the canteen. SCHOOL CANTEEN As we transition back to school in weeks 4 and 5, the canteen will NOT operate a normal service. There will be no counter service available at all. Instead our wonderful P&C run canteen is offering a smaller menu on Wednesdays and Fridays of both weeks. Orders will ONLY be available through the flexischools app. This is the only way we can provide contact free lunch orders for students. No other canteen options will be available.
