25.01.2022 HINTERLAND~ ODD SOCKS DAY~ Today we participated in the annual national mental health anti-stigma campaign, organised by GROW. We supported this important event by wearing odd socks and talking about ways as a community that we can make a difference. * Be a friend - be there for others through the ordinary and the extraordinary. * Be brave - don’t tolerate discrimination or stigma.... * Be open - share your experiences. * Be informed - know the truth and dispel the myths. * Be good to yourself - recognise the need for self care. 23.01.2022 Today was a special day for AAM Over the past few terms we have watched our school community band together and reach a goal! Today we were able to share in our amazing school's "Shrek the Musical" To say we were proud of not only our Amaze kids but of our entire school community is an understatement! Goose bumps and tears are the best result you could get from watching a performance, the children and staff should be so proud of the amazing production. We are grateful for the opportunity to share in this with the kids and our school xxx
23.01.2022 GAVEN: NAIDOC week - Our Conquerors learnt Acknowledgement of Country in sign language, read and made the rainbow serpent, made yarning sticks, discussed what the Aboriginal symbols meant and made yummy damper.
23.01.2022 The Silkstone Explorers are focusing on extending their communication skills. Through identifying ways of communicating as they are learning a variety of ways to express their needs. As they further develop their effective communication skills they are incorporating expressions through art, dance, verbal communication, visual and sign language.

15.01.2022 SILKSTONE BUSH KINDY: Today we engaged in a bush kinda experience. Bush kindy is a magical experience where we are able to transfer our safe travelling skills out of the centre into the open space just beyond the perimeter. We have worked really hard to achieve our goal of safe travelling by breaking down the steps to travel safely, starting in the centre grounds then moving to the tree located just beyond the entrance. During Bush Kindy we are able to continue to connect with the land in which we work live and play and continue to become connected to nature. Today we travelled to Bush Kindy to collect natural resources from the ground to extend on our dinosaur den play. Why do you like to experience outdoors?? We would love to share magical moments in your outdoor play experiences.

15.01.2022 2020 has been a challenging year for everyone and circumstances have made it even more important for us all to stay connected and, for those who are able, be willing to support those around us. You dont have to be an expert to keep the conversation going when someone says theyre not OK. By knowing what to say you can help someone feel supported and access appropriate help long before theyre in crisis, which can make a really positive difference to their life. What a great way to connect through gardening

09.01.2022 RECONCILIATION ACTION PLAN Jingeri! Last year we completed our RAP, and now it is time to do a little review. This is the vision for reconciliation statement our team created at the time. A Vision for Reconciliation is an overarching, aspirational statement that provides an opportunity to publicly articulate to the wider community what reconciliation means to your school or early learning service, and what it is that motivates your commitment to reconciliation -Do you feel th...is vision is still applicable for AMAZE? - is there anything you would add? "Our vision is to provide an educational service which nurtures and grows the next generation of Australians, so that both Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander and non-Indigenous people may come together as one. We envision an educational community where respect, understanding, harmony, peace and inclusion form the cornerstones of our vision for reconciliation; where children feel a sense of belonging, and comfort in knowing that their cultures are shared, honoured and respected, as are their Elders, past, present and future. Our process towards reconciliation acknowledges that our children are our future and our journey starts now."
