23.01.2022 I've been quiet on social media, but behind the scenes BIG THINGS have been happening!!! I have been extremely fortunate to receive a grant from Latrobe Health Assembly which has enabled me to be able to offer every school in Latrobe Valley 1 FREE AMAZING ANATOMY SESSION! It's been busy but there are still a few freebies left! ... Get in quick before they all go! I look forward to meeting more amazing little people and inspire and encourage them to embrace their health! Please feel free to share the good news!

22.01.2022 The femur bone: it's a pretty important part of our skeletal system... not only is it stronger than concrete, it's the longest bone in our body, running from the hip to the knee. It supports us to stand and allows our legs to move! Extra fun fact: our femur's length is about a quarter of our height!! Who'd think the skeletal system can teach us math too! To see Felix Femur in action and to learn a little more about the skeletal system, click here for a short vide...o https://youtu.be/6PfMjtZXRMI Keep being amazing!

21.01.2022 I couldn't be more nervous and excited about this event if I tried!!! It's been an incredible journey and I'm ever so grateful!

20.01.2022 A big shout out to @latrobehealthassembly ! Thank you so much for believing in my dream and supporting my program!! With the grant I received I was able to offer FREE sessions to Latrobe Valley preschools, primary schools & community groups! The project ran from July '18 - June '19 and received very positive results! With knowledge, tools & strategies, children are empowered to make informed health choices that can positively impact their health and wellbeing! Knowledge is... power! Thank you!! Kerstyn

18.01.2022 More than half of our bones are in our hands and feet! 27 in each hand, and 26 in each foot! Having so many tiny bones helps our hands and feet to be able to make many different and small movements. Click your fingers, pick up something or stand on your tip toes, and see how many bones moved to make it happen. ... We wouldn't be able to do these things if we didn't have so many tiny bones all working together as a team! For any children wanting to learn a little more about the AMAZING skeletal system, check out this short video https://youtu.be/6PfMjtZXRMI Keep being amazing!

15.01.2022 And our feet are the same length as our forearm, and our femur is a quarter of our height!! The amazement never ends!!! Try it at home: Stretch out your arms and measure from the tip of your left middle finger to the tip of your right middle finger, is the distance the same as your height? Test your flexibility and line up your foot with your forearm, with your toes at your wrist and your heel at your elbow, are they the same length? Measure the distance from your hip to ...your knee (the femur bone), then times that number by 4, does it equal your height? Who'd think the skeletal system can teach us math too! To see Felix Femur in action and to learn a little more about the skeletal system, click here for a short video https://youtu.be/6PfMjtZXRMI Keep being amazing!

15.01.2022 New certificates arrived today!! I'm like a kid at Christmas! Do you think 4000 will be enough?! It's also a prompt for them to share with their family the fun body tricks and fun facts of how amazing and clever our body systems are and how to stay healthy! ... 14.01.2022 I had some minor repairs needed for my intestines! Thanks @natasha_borg_dressmaker, all better now! During the Amazing Anatomy session we play this fun game to help learn about the wonders of our digestive system. Children fill the 'stomach' with vegetables and as a whole class we push the food through the intestines and see what happens... the 'poo' normally gets an "Ewww!" Followed by fits of laughter! #amazing.anatomy #healtheducation #teachers #health #primaryschool #preschool #latrobevalley #gippsland #funlearning
